There have been so many unsupportive DHs posted about lately that I wanted to redress the balance! Smile

AIBU to have requested toast AND cereal in bed this morning with my tea? Which DH made and delivered with a smile? Brew Smile

My DP is lovely, and also brought me breakfast and juice in bed this morning, while taking out toddler off downstairs so that I can have an hour of peace. And he does the same most other Saturday mornings. He's a keeper!

SkaTastic · 30/09/2017 16:46

Mine is bloody lovely too. Cooks, cleans, does the washing. As do I. We often say we like looking after each other. It's like we are two grown ups!!

Mittens1969 · 30/09/2017 16:46

Yes my DH is a keeper, too, the things I moan about him are actually minor when I think about all the stuff he does for me and the DDs. He's a great Daddy. Smile

supersop60 · 30/09/2017 16:49

This thread is lovely. You lucky lot - I feel a bit sad.

LegoShmego · 30/09/2017 16:49

Me too! He works away, 4on 4off but when he is here he is doing the same role as me (sahp), doesn't need prompting when things need doing and loves to spend time together as a family and as a couple.
He's also a morning person and brings me tea!
He can also be an absolute arsehole when he speaks to me sometimes, but I've learnt to handle it and the good definately outweighs the bad

peachgreen · 30/09/2017 17:07

Yup. I can’t believe what some women here have to put up with, it makes me so sad. My husband is a bloody gem who more than shoulders his half of the responsibility for running our domestic life, without ever having to be asked - AND makes me breakfast in bed every day. He’s also a genuinely lovely, kind, patient person who would never hurt me and considers my ongoing happiness to be his main goal in life. I feel the same way about him, obvs, but I definitely don’t make him breakfast in bed every morning!

LakieLady · 30/09/2017 17:35

I got breakfast in bed this morning and then he went and did the shopping and bought me loads of my favourite foody things.

He's kind, clever and funny and I wouldn't swap him unless George Clooney really begged me for anything.

gunsandbanjos · 30/09/2017 17:38

He’s not my husband for another 9 weeks but he’s pretty damn amazing! Nice to hear I’ve not got the only good one and there’s other nice guys out there.

weegiemum · 30/09/2017 19:22

Mine is lovely too!

early30smum · 30/09/2017 19:23

You are all so lucky. Mine is good in lots of ways but the main thing I can't deal with is him constantly undermining my parenting. Ugh.

FuzzyOwl · 30/09/2017 19:27

Mine is lovely too. I am currently lounging about doing nothing whilst he gives the DCs a bath (which he does every night) and then he's going to cook something lovely for us to eat.

Maelstrop · 30/09/2017 19:50

Mine is bloody awesome. He tries to make me have lie ins and he deals with everything else. He deals with all the finances, because he knows I find it tedious. He does the majority of the cooking. He asks about my day and gives excellent advice if something isn't going as it should at work. I am extremely supportive of him and do an awful lot for him too. It's definitely a partnership.

Andromeida29 · 30/09/2017 23:46

My DP is just wonderful. He's caring, loving, always makes me laugh. He's beautiful, inside and out. Been together 12 years and I still get butterflies. We're now also trying for our first dc. Smile

DaisyDrip · 30/09/2017 23:56

My DH was an absolute superstar and we adored each other even after 4 DC. I miss him so much.

Make the most of every minute ladies, life is so very short. Flowers

TwatteryFlowers · 30/09/2017 23:59

Mine Hoovered up today without being asked. He noticed the crumbs after dinner and got the Hoover out. He took the laundry upstairs and put it to dry after taking ds to bed, again without being told. This is not unusual; this is a daily occurrence.

TwatteryFlowers · 30/09/2017 23:59

Sorry to read that drip Flowers

DaisyDrip · 01/10/2017 00:11

Thank you Flowers, it's hard but I often feel him here with me. Flowers to you too.

Arseface · 01/10/2017 00:25

Oh drip, that's tough Flowers I can be a bit of a grumpy old sow to DH sometimes but you are right. Life is too short.

Mine's great too. He was rubbish when we first met but then so was I. We've both grown into proper functional adults together.

Littlecaf · 01/10/2017 01:03

Mines pretty good. He just does what he's supposed to do (no 'helping' here, he does what we need to do whether it's housework or childcare etc). He does cute little things like buy me flowers occasionally and breakfast in bed about once a fortnight. Always makes the tea and always puts me & the kids first. He makes me laugh a lot too.

LyannaStarktheWolfMaid · 01/10/2017 01:10

Mine is a total dick. He doesn't sleep well, so he makes me a cup of tea at the weekends. Sometimes he refuses to make the second until I get up. I hate him.

TheKidsAreTakingMySanity · 01/10/2017 01:29

Mine me is such a great daddy to our three dc that I could never leave him (not that I'd want to, as well as an awesome husband he's a total dreamboat and not even George Clooney begging could drag me away). I'm the SAHM but the kids would probably want to live with him 😢

AnnieAnoniMouse · 01/10/2017 02:03

💐 Daisy ((BigHug)).

10storeylovesong · 01/10/2017 06:26

I had DS2 at 5 yesterday morning after labouring all night. After being awake 36 hours and DS cluster feeding between 7.15 and 2am last night, DH just took over and made me sleep for a few hours while he had skin to skin downstairs. He'll be back up in an hour or so to look after DS1 so I can continue to rest and establish feeding. He's wonderful.

VileyRose · 01/10/2017 06:54

My OH had a job promotion on Friday. On Saturday he made me stay in bed till I wanted so I got up at 10. We have 1 DD and I have 3 DC that he has taken on. When I got up I went to the library and read a book in peace lol. He is so good to me. So attentive. I know how lucky I am as my ex was an ARSE.

NoMapOfMyHead · 01/10/2017 07:58
