White jeans period and holiday

Mushybanna23 · 29/09/2017 22:02

Have awful periods so bad i take regular tablets for it. My period Wasn’t due for another 9 days or so and didn’t bring any tablets with me on holiday. I use the tablets that stop my period normally for holidays if I’m due. But surprise it’s turned up early hurts like hell and all I can get is paracetamol and ibroprufen no hot water bottles to buy either as hot country. I take codine, cocodamol, femnax ultra at home for for pain relief and my prescription of transanamic acid. Ive been wanting to be home for days it’s so painful I’ve put on a brave face but struggled beaches with no toilet out on a boat with no where to hide. I’ve had my boyfriend hold a towel around me on the beach so I can change tampon as so heavy.
I only packed one pair of trousers For the plane I’ve ended up wearing them most evenings as it’s been colder than expected. But tonight I managed to leak on them it’s so obvious I’ve tried to wash them with water but can’t risk soaking them as I need them to dry by tomorrow as the plane will be cold any one want to cheer me up or give me any ways to get them clean we have to leave early tomorrow morning so no time to by another pair don’t fanxy cold shorts on the plain

Go for cold shorts.

jaseyraex · 29/09/2017 22:07

Could you maybe get a little blanket somewhere in the airport to keep you warm on the plane?

Stellato · 29/09/2017 22:09

Salt gets blood stains out. Make a paste with a little bit of water.

dressinggown8305 · 29/09/2017 22:10

I would go for shorts. You'll be clean and fresher that way. Use a jumper or buy a blanket from the airport to keep you warm on the plane and waiting before you board.

howdoyoudecide · 29/09/2017 22:13

Go to a supermarket and buy some joggers

jobergamot · 29/09/2017 22:13

Always rinse blood stains in cold water.

cochineal7 · 29/09/2017 22:18

Never use hot water on blood stains. It congeals it and sets it in stone. If you are anywhere with natural olive oil soap, or ox gall soap - that works a treat. Otherwise: shorts and a blanket/shawl.

CariadzDarling · 29/09/2017 22:33

Op, can you tie a hoodie or the likes around your waist?

GU24Mum · 29/09/2017 22:34

I'd go for cold shorts first, then emergency trousers if you can find any, then slightly damp but clean white jeans... but definitely not stained ones as you'll be concious about it all day long.

notangelinajolie · 29/09/2017 22:39

Wash and dry with hairdryer?

SheRasBra · 29/09/2017 22:42

I know this doesn't help right now but when you get home see your GP about your iron levels. I am Mrs nuclear period - seriously, I use sheep as tampons - and learned that the heavier they are the more anaemic you get and then the heavier your periods become. Bit of a fault of nature there. All good advice for getting home re maybe massaging a paste of salt and water onto the stain and drying on a radiator. Roll damp trousers in a towel and step on them to get them as dry as possible. Sweater tied casually around the waist to hide stains? I feel your pain.

redsquirrel2 · 29/09/2017 22:42

Borrow something off your boyfriend? And when you get home go to the doctors.

Butteredparsnip1ps · 29/09/2017 22:43

Cheap soap (hotel bathroom type) and cool water works well on blood stains. Then wrap your jeans in a towel and wring them out to get as much water out as possible.

That said, you might be less self conscious in shorts and a hoodie...

Sara107 · 29/09/2017 22:44

Emergency trousers if you can buy some, or a blanket or rug to snuggle up in. Sorry your holiday has been spoiled, it sounds miserable. In the longer term, could you ask your GP to be referred to a specialist doctor and see whether something could be done about that amount of pain? Nobody should be having to routinely take codeine to get through their period.

BelleandBeast · 29/09/2017 22:45

I feel that pain, hoodie knotted round waist will work

minipie · 29/09/2017 22:48

Saliva! your own saliva will do a great job of dissolving your own blood. Something to do with the enzymes. Weird suggestion I know and it won't get it completely white but will fade it to a very pale pink smudge

Littlefrogletx · 29/09/2017 23:20

Just buy a pair of trousers why is an issue?

Fffion · 29/09/2017 23:22

Saliva contains the enzyme, amylase, which does not work on blood.

tippz · 29/09/2017 23:24

Why would ANYONE buy (and wear) WHITE jeans?! Confused

Islacornx · 29/09/2017 23:31

Helpful tippz Hmm

I second pp suggestions to wear your shorts if you can’t get the stain out and try and find a blanket or trousers from the shops in the airport to keep you warm on the plane!

coddiwomple · 29/09/2017 23:38

Wear shorts, and steal borrow a towel or buy one if you don't have a blanket to keep in your hand luggage. Towels are pretty good to keep you warm.
There might be shops in the airport?

(I would also advise you to keep a towel on your belly at night, it's not a hot water bottle, but it helps)

tigercub50 · 29/09/2017 23:41

One of my fav pairs of trousers was white! They are stained now & I can't seem to find a white fabric dye so will have to change the colour.

CottonEyedJoe · 29/09/2017 23:41

Why would ANYONE buy (and wear) WHITE jeans?!

Just because you can't carry them off Smile

OP wearing shorts won't be the worst thing, if you can't get any new ones. I feel your pain though - I've bled so heavily for 3 months since I've got the implant in. I'm having it taken out on Tuesday, but I'm sure I'm really aneamic whilst I had to 'give it a chance to settle'. Been having to take naps every day. You must feel like shit! Definitely get it checked Flowers

Benedikte2 · 29/09/2017 23:42

Wash yo ur jeans and dry them with a hair dryer
