White jeans period and holiday

Mushybanna23 · 29/09/2017 22:02

Have awful periods so bad i take regular tablets for it. My period Wasn’t due for another 9 days or so and didn’t bring any tablets with me on holiday. I use the tablets that stop my period normally for holidays if I’m due. But surprise it’s turned up early hurts like hell and all I can get is paracetamol and ibroprufen no hot water bottles to buy either as hot country. I take codine, cocodamol, femnax ultra at home for for pain relief and my prescription of transanamic acid. Ive been wanting to be home for days it’s so painful I’ve put on a brave face but struggled beaches with no toilet out on a boat with no where to hide. I’ve had my boyfriend hold a towel around me on the beach so I can change tampon as so heavy.
I only packed one pair of trousers For the plane I’ve ended up wearing them most evenings as it’s been colder than expected. But tonight I managed to leak on them it’s so obvious I’ve tried to wash them with water but can’t risk soaking them as I need them to dry by tomorrow as the plane will be cold any one want to cheer me up or give me any ways to get them clean we have to leave early tomorrow morning so no time to by another pair don’t fanxy cold shorts on the plain

Could you wear a long tunic/kaftan on top?

MollyHuaCha · 29/09/2017 23:49

Boyfriend's tracksuit trousers?

Littlefrogletx · 29/09/2017 23:49

White fabric dye doesn't exsist.

SeaToSki · 29/09/2017 23:51

PP suggestions on here for the trouser situation are better than anything I could recommed, but when you get home ask your GP about a mirena coil, they can be great for reducing horrific periods as well as the pain

AlpacaLypse · 29/09/2017 23:57

You haven't said where you are but 99% of the hot beach countries I've been to have cheap and cheerful beach wear boutiques, for floaty dresses. That and some industrial level tampons and pads should get you home.

Sorry re-read your OP. Are you stuck on a cruise? Might be worth talking to housekeeping. Most women are actually rather decent and there's a good chance one of the staff is your size and happy to hand over a pair of cheap jeans in exchange for £20.

LegoHurts · 29/09/2017 23:59

Wear shorts on the plane with a hoodie - no one will bat an eyelid. Take some warm socks and if you can get a blanket even better. There are no guarantees that the plane will be cold, the last long flight I took was tropical! Good luck and hope you feel better.

Runningpear · 30/09/2017 00:04

Just buy a cheap skirt / pair of loose pants from a shop. Certainly worth not wearing wet / stained pants.

EBearhug · 30/09/2017 00:06

Why would ANYONE buy (and wear) WHITE jeans?!

When I am definitely through the menopause, I will definitely be buying some white trousers, because I dare not wear them this side of the menopause.

OP, I agree with the idea if you can get some sort of sarong or beach skirt or something you can wear over your jeans, that would probably be best.

I have lots of sympathy. I too a ton of sanpro on hols, just in case.

Flyinggeese · 30/09/2017 00:18

OP your posts often have a bodily function theme don't they?

Ceto · 30/09/2017 00:38

Why would you take only one item of clothing for your lower half on holiday, and white jeans at that? What would you do if someone splashed coffee on them or you sat on a dirty bench or something?

blueberrypie0112 · 30/09/2017 00:44

Hydrogen peroxide for period is your friend

Mushybanna23 · 30/09/2017 07:24

Thanks for the suggestions I only brought hand lugagage so one pair of jeans for the flight there and back hadn’t planned on wearing them out to dinner

seriously, I use sheep as tampons

Ha ha! Seriously I remember those days (not literally using sheep but know what you mean!).

Deathraystare · 30/09/2017 07:35

Mushy - seriously why would you wear white jeans???! The last time I wore white trousers was the day I first had my period and realised it woud be the last time I would ever wear white trousers.

Lesson learned for me and you hopefullly. Seriously, in future pack an extra'emergency' pair of trousers, leggings whatever and maybe some sanitary towels as well. Even when I wore tampons I always used a thinnish towel as well just in case, especially whilst travelling.

Deathraystare · 30/09/2017 07:36

This is why I can never pack light. I have to take 5 years supply of sanitary stuff with me!!!

Birdsgottafly · 30/09/2017 07:39

Planes have blankets. My DD always has at least two from the Flight Attendant. She feels the cold when she is flying (she's also terrified, so wraps herself up).

Is there really nothing for sale that is suitable, just to cover you?

Birdsgottafly · 30/09/2017 07:42

"Seriously, in future pack an extra'emergency' pair of trousers, leggings whatever and maybe some sanitary towels as well"

If your trying to squeeze by on hand luggage only, you can't.

Which is why when an OP asks "to think I can have enough space with hand luggage only", I say No, it doesn't allow for emergency or the unplanned. It's with the extra cost of one checked case.

pilates · 30/09/2017 07:46

Oh Mushy I feel for you, unless you have experienced very heavy painful periods you have no idea. Are there any local shops where you can get some cheap trousers? Not sure on your age, but the only thing that sorted me out was a hysterectomy.

EBearhug · 30/09/2017 09:21

Planes have blankets.

Not if it's a budget airline.

minipie · 30/09/2017 10:29

Ffion it's always worked well for me. I used to get small bloodstains quite often (due to a terrible habit of spot picking), and saliva always did a much better job than water. Maybe my saliva is weird.

TammySwansonTwo · 30/09/2017 12:54

I have very heavy periods too and have quite literally never owned a white pair of trousers - maybe worth a rethink! In the meantime though, pick up a pair of trousers from somewhere and chemists may still have those sticky heatpads that go on the outside of your underwear.

Mushybanna23 · 30/09/2017 22:09

Borrowed a maxi dress of my sister and jumper of my boyfriend I wouldn’t of gone with just hand luggage but family paid anc car would only fit hand luggage in

Contact lens cleaning solution is really good for disappearing blood stains.... But I'd prob go for shorts.... Poor you! Flowers
