Love Ocado- used Tesco for years- but one shop with Ocado and all my expectations were exceeded.

BabsGanoush · 29/09/2017 22:59

We use Tesco every week and have never had any problems, meat and veg always fresh, drivers friendly, minimal subs etc

Arseface · 29/09/2017 22:59

Ah, that's interesting, I've been Ocadoing for ages and wondered whether I should look at Waitrose.

The basic prices are great but if you go even slightly off piste it gets expensive.
I like the butchers counter though. Have a look at feather blade and flat iron steaks.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 29/09/2017 23:00

Their spicy feta dip is amazing

Benedikte2 · 29/09/2017 23:05

We gave up on Tesco's because they made so many mistakes short dates, silly substitutions etc etc. Seemed to be on the phone to customer services after every delivery. Finally gave up on them and now alternate Waitrose and Sainsburys (can't get everything at the one store) . Generally very pleased with delivery men and service. Latest Sainsburys mistake was two items past use your date so both the picker and the shelf stacker hadn't been doing their job. Can't check everything at the door.

astrotel · 30/09/2017 00:13

I do Ocado but it is much more expensive that our amazing local farm shop. Ocado meat is generally really poor and overpriced in my view.

Pivoine · 30/09/2017 01:34

@sistersofpercy how do you get all this new stuff to Try? I've been with Ocado many years and often see in the reviews someone was given something free 'to review'. How do you get that privilege?

SistersOfPercy · 30/09/2017 11:10

@Pivoine I honestly can't remember how I got involved in it, it was many many years ago. It was possibly a Facebook post.
Keep an eye on their Facebook and Twitter and you might see a call out for reviewers.

Another Ocado fan. Love the ranges not available elsewhere. Some are pricy but worth trying when on offer. Look out for the Picard range of frozen foods, some of their vegetable selections are a god send in the freezer, when you need to magically rustle up a decent meal v quickly - especially their tasty tomato cubes, chargrilled veg and paella mixes.

Thingsiseeinmybathroom · 30/09/2017 12:14

We love ocado! A little pricier in some ways, although I've figured out the savvy shop now.
Delivery guy always friendly and helpful, shopping always on time (or early!), the meat is much nicer than Aldi (who we ditched due to bad meat on several occasions), the veg is good quality and the essential range is superior to any other value style range.

Plus they take the carrier bags and recycle them!

Biffsboys · 30/09/2017 12:22

No Ocado where I am Sad

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/09/2017 12:24

Love the lovely Ocado and the lovely delivery drivers (who, incidentally, also do Morrisons delivery - apparently they are flipped between the two).

Before I started having home deliveries I was staggering across the road loaded down with bags after a supermarket shop (have to park up opposite my house). An Ocado van was parked up behind me and he got out of the van and insisted on carrying my shopping in for me. I WASN'T EVEN AN OCADO CUSTOMER AT THE TIME, just a random struggling woman.

Seconding whatashower about the Picard range.

Excited101 · 30/09/2017 12:29

If you like ice cream then get some mochi, they're divine!!!

Jasminedes · 30/09/2017 12:30

I like the range, and love the online platform, but now use Morrisons who share the same platform, have less range, but can consistently spend £20 less.

Heathen4Hire · 30/09/2017 12:35

Been using them for years now.
If something doesn't come in perfect condition they refund it quickly, no quibbles.
If they can't supply something, often they replace it with a superior product eg Waitrose bog roll is replaced by Andrex.
If you don't like the replacement they take it back straight away and deduct it from your bill quickly.
We have a smart pass which works out the delivery charges cheaper.
We have tried Tesco and Sainsbury's and Ocado are so much better.

sunseptember · 30/09/2017 12:47

Another fan here. I wish it had been clearer that you can shop as you go. For years I was under misconception that you were tied into a contract. When I think of the hideous shopping trips I endured with the dc esp when toddler
.. Waitrose customers service in store totally not child friendly either, I do main shop at ocado now.

MagentaRocks · 30/09/2017 12:51

I don't think they deliver to my area and the only way I can check is to register and I don't want to get loads of spam mail if they don't even deliver here.

Jasminedes · 30/09/2017 12:53

But DH says we have to go back to Aldi to save some more money. Which is ok as I like their things too.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/09/2017 12:58

@MagentaRocks you can check if they deliver to your area without registering

MagentaRocks · 30/09/2017 13:10

Thanks bore. They don't deliver to my area.

fleshmarketclose · 30/09/2017 14:02

I like Ocado and have used them on occasion but regularly shop online with Morrisons as seem to get the same service but better prices.

HoneyBoo269 · 30/09/2017 14:11

Think I'm going to give Ocado a go. Given up on Tesco since they substituted toothpaste with a toothbrush Hmm

PinkGlitter17 · 30/09/2017 14:14

If a customer can get £20 off if they refer a friend and the friend also gets £20 off, let's pair up!

Fluffyears · 30/09/2017 14:21

I wish they delivered here and i’d Pm and we could save £30 each :(

Fluffyears · 30/09/2017 14:22

Oops £20 each!
