Spent the day with my 23 year old god daughter who is OLD. Was disgusting dating and she told me that ALL young women remove ALL body hair now and anyone who doesn't would be considered utterly disgusting and the man would probably leave if he discovered a hairy woman in bed.

As an older woman, that doesn't seem very likely to me. Close male friends and my own limited experience have led me to believe that men aren't this shallow or exacting, and that 'all men' don't find the same thing attractive.

Fuck it. I'd rather remain hairy and be celibate than shave for sex with someone that shallow. Might even grow my leg and armpit hair too. Hair = useful dickhead repellent.

Ha i'm of a similar age and only really remember to shave my pits for my child's weekly swim lesson. My husband doesn't mind in the slightest, he only really notices if my legs are stubbly. We always joke about the state of the bath after I can be bothered to shave, looks like I murdered a yeti in there. Shaving comes very low on my priority list, never has and I've never had any complaints

I'm 24 and can say that definitely isn't true - it's personal preference and if a guy said he didn't like what he found (hair or no hair) I think my friends would kick them out of bed!

I probably shave my legs about once every 3 months and underarms every month (particularly slow growing anyway) and don't think my boyfriend would even notice!

I think most under 25's expect a Woman to be hairless.I think a level of grooming from Men is now expected that once wasn't, as well.

The problem with OLD is that it is quite ruthless and if one isn't up to scratch, then there is another one,waiting in the wings.

I'm nearly 50 and I've dabbled in OLD, I've got friends that do. I have gone for a Brazilian since my 30's,so i couldn't comment on the leaving bit.Some of my friends have landing strips and they've had suggestions to remove it all.

There are Lesbians that don't like body hair, it isn't just Men.

There is a big difference in dating within your circle of acquaintances and OLD, it isn't for the fainthearted. Likewise what your steady BF/ Partner would notice/ask for.

I'm in my 20s and not clean shaven. Not yet had a guy leave upon discovering this. In fact, I've not had any negative comments at all.

The only people I've ever felt the pressure to go bald from were women actually.

My DD has shaved her legs the last couple of years, simply because she didn't like hairy legs in PE lessons. Last term she didn't have her PE kit, and having had to do it in her knickers has become a bit more fussy about how much she shaves! Although probably more to do with peer pressure than what men want

In 30's and not clean shaven. Just tidied up round the edges. If any man thought that was disgusting or wrong then I would have nothing to do with him. I think this whole shaving the whole vag thing is bloody ridiculous. It's also time consuming and itchy and uncomfortable. Just leave it alone.

Obviously not everyone. But DD1 is 17 and says it's norm among her friends to shave it all. Even boys do it, according to her.

BUT DH couldn’t care less if I was hairy or not and is actually quite pissed off that I spend so much on hair removal but meh !

I think a lot of under 25's are like this. My Dd's are. Their choice not something I have ever done.

DH doesn't like it completely bald, he said it looks odd.

OK so I am getting that OLD is an acronym but I have tried Googling and am none the wiser. Can someone enlighten me what you are on about?

It makes me really sad that people (men included) think they need to change themselves like this. I don't know. I just feel really weird about hair removal - not shaving legs for summer, or whipping off armpit hair for a strappy top - but taking all your pubes off?

I couldn't do it - I'd feel creepy, like I was trying to look like a little girl. Each to their own, I suppose. Glad I'm not OLD if that's the norm.
