No idea how I'm going to do this

So, it's a week to payday and I have nothing in the house at all. Just cooking a dinner of chips and beans for my son - that's it. I have 62p in my purse and no petrol in the car.
We struggle every month but this month is particularly bad, zero hours contract and no childcare in the holidays so pay last month was short, uniform and shoes to buy after a growth spurt, it's never ending.
I know you're not miracle workers but any ideas anyone?? I can't believe I let it get to this, I think I've been in denial

Food bank referral from hv?

Try the Cooking on a Bootstrap website for meal ideas. Can anyone lend you a tenner for the week?

Have you family you could borrow from? I'm sure someone will have a bright idea (I'm not very good with them).

Definitely food bank referral, could you speak to your bank and get a short term loan?

I think your going to have to look at getting a referral to a food bank as your ds and you need to eat. I don't know how they work but if you Google food bank in your area maybe it will say how to get a referral

Do you have anything that could lend you enough for some basic shopping? Your Parents, a good friend?

Are you with your ds dad? If your not together could the dad help out?

I don't know anything about the benefits system but if your on zero hours contract is there anything you can claim?

If you've nothing at all, what plans are you making to feed yourselves tomorrow?

Family? Friends? Sell stuff?

What have you looked into so far? Food banks? Borrowing from family etc?

Expensive uniform: I don't think your comment is helpful to the op. If you don't like a thread report it but there really is no need to comment. The op hasn't asked for anything other than ideas so far. At least give people a chance before you jump in assumptions.

Op: have you anyone that can lend you money until pay day? Overdraft? (my bank adds it straight away if you do it online) you wouldn't need a lot just enough to get you through and then pay back on pay day

To be fair , there's been a bumper crop of financial hardship threads recently, and they always swing round to offers/donation shortly before being zapped by MNHQ.

Hardly surprising that such threads attract an element of cynicism.

You need to find yourself another job, one that's isn't zero hours wage, also have you contacted benefits to see if your benefit entitlement is correct?

Food banks, and also if a family member can help in the interim.

Yeah I can understand cynicism, but if it's genuine, it will feel like people are putting the boot in. Just report it.

I do think Uniform is right though, there have been loads of begging threads recently, even the "how to tell the kids they'll be no Christmas " ones have started already.

I don't think uniform is being a "knob" I do think there should be a forum for this, money matters/finiancial help etc...

As much as I help out in my hometown, this is an anonymous forum, we don't know the person behind the screen, or even if it's true, it is after all words in a screen.

There is local charities that the OP can visit, food banks and she can also attend the local council office and ask for a crisis loan, or even ask family/friends/neighbours.

There is a myriad of options available to the OP, without saying she has no money, no food and 62p in the bank, without commenting on what she has done to try and help her current situation!

And so many of these threads have been deleted recently - even after being left to stand for hours in the interests of 'benefit of the doubt'

Can you get a payday loan - they are horrible things but will ultimately get you through the next week.

My first thoughts would be:

1. Overdraft / credit card? I'm not a huge fan of them but can be helpful for short-term cash flow issues.
2. Is there anything you can sell? Some old toys or clothes that you can get a tenner or two for?
3. Can anyone lend you £20 to last you through until payday?

Payday loan is terrible advice. If OP is that skint she won't be able to make payments and that's when the real trouble will start.
