Galaxy s5 users, Dh predictive txt prompting Youporn?

Dh has issues with porn, he’s lied to me and broken a huge deal of trust in our marriage as a consequence. Right now in our relationship the deal is no porn on his part until we are in a better place, regarding lying and trust etc. I have full access to his phone and was searching YouTube but his search bar prompted youporn.com. This phone is newly used by Dh and wouldn’t have any previous history stored. He swears he has no idea how it’s there and making me feel unreasonable to even question him. So can anyone knowledgeable ie Samsung galaxy users tell me does a galaxy phone automatically prompt a porn site?Hmm

I have that phone. My auto complete suggest youtube, a site I've visited and not one that I've never been on...

Fluffysparks · 21/09/2017 12:39

If it came up with YouTube first then it's most likely Samsung promoting it or something like that, but if a link appeared in the search box rather than a dropdown menu he's been searching it.

You don't really need to ask do you?

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 21/09/2017 12:41

I don't have that phone but I can't for the life of me imagine it would auto fill for a porn site. Kids use phones too. Or just people who aren't into porn. Imagine the outcry.

Sorry but you must already know the answer Flowers

FoodGloriousFud · 21/09/2017 12:42

YouPorn is definitely definitely not predictive texts. Imagine the uproar if it was in the p.c age we live in?! I think you know this though. Has your husband had professional help? Or is it a case of him cheating on you?

SumThucker · 21/09/2017 12:42

They don't predict porn sites, no.

quicknamechange3 · 21/09/2017 12:43

Thanks, I do know the answer. He’s a great liar unfortunately and always makes me 2nd guess myself.

CosyFires · 21/09/2017 12:43

He is lying. He has been on porn.

FoodGloriousFud · 21/09/2017 12:44

Be strong, you know you're right. Don't let him convince you otherwise. Hope you're ok op

BackieJerkhart · 21/09/2017 12:44

Can you check his browsing history on the phone?

Userwhocouldntthinkofagoodname · 21/09/2017 12:45

If he has used porn in the past Google will have it connected to his profile. Doesn't matter if the phone is new google remembers everything forever.

scottishdiem · 21/09/2017 12:46

Oh he has been on it. But these things are stored for ages. So, how old is the phone compared to how old the deal for no porn is?

If the phone is older than the deal, ask the last time he was on it? If its a phone he got after the deal then he has broken it.

(very probably, it depends. The URL is not a predictive text per se, its an autofill. And this can sync with a desktop if he is logged in on both. You can check the browser history to see when sites were last looked at.)

quicknamechange3 · 21/09/2017 12:46

He works in computers, everything in incognito, basically impossible to catch him, guess he wasn’t so careful with his predictive text memory.

OP posts:
KeepSmiling83 · 21/09/2017 12:46

Wouldn't it have come up on the drop down menu if he had been on it on his phone? It comes up in predictive text if he has typed that word into a message rather than typed it into the address bar doesn't it? It still looks like he has typed that but I wouldn't be certain he has been watching it on his phone.

quicknamechange3 · 21/09/2017 12:49

His use of this phone is only very recent and dosnt predate our deal.

Flyingflipflop · 21/09/2017 12:49

DH has issues with porn

Does he have an issue or is it your issue with porn?

FoodGloriousFud · 21/09/2017 12:50

That's a valid point! I was wondering why it was a deal breaker.

RileyFinn · 21/09/2017 12:51

keepsmiling.. he will have looked at it in incognito so chrome wont remember it in the menu but the predictive text remembers it as a often used text.

OP, that is how my s6 works and on mine it only remembers it this way if you have typed it a couple of times. So the one offs I have done in incognito ie birthday presents for husband don't show up but the websites I used a few times ie my banking sites do.

OnionKnight · 21/09/2017 12:52

He's lying.

BinarySearchTree · 21/09/2017 12:53

That is not text suggested by Google, but text 'learned' by the phone as somethinb commonly typed by the user. The idea is to make it quicker and easier to use the phone's keyboard over time.

ShowMePotatoSalad · 21/09/2017 12:53

The predictive searches are based on previous searches. Even if you delete your history it won't delete the predictive searches - they have to be deleted separately on Samsung if you want to do so. He's visited the website.
