Ironic as I find at the bottom of a number of right wing blogs (Order-Order & conservative Home) the most disgusting misogyny and racism.

Thank you Florence, if you are here somewhere. Thank you so much xxxx

Sparklingbrook · 13/09/2017 20:49

Oh my word-the Police! Shock Grin

Niall McCrae • 6 hours ago
As author of this article, I'd like to respond to comments by Florence (see below). Initially I reported the abuse to Mumsnet and hoped that they would get back to me - they didn't, and the topic remained available at time of writing. Removing this should not have been left to a decision by the original writer - the discussion title and comments clearly breached the rules set by Mumsnet. As for a one-sided view of the discussion, Florence, I have a full printout. It would not be unreasonable to hand this to Police. Mumsnet needs to deal with its abusive users, before action is taken by authorities.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 13/09/2017 20:56

I dunno there was a lot of abuse of the DH on the thread some understandable some not, and yes it probably was said in jest a lot of it, BUT there is a clear divide in opinions when it comes to stuff like this when a man says something like seen on the thread as it seems it's almost certain to be called misogynistic and abusive where as when it's women it's almost always downplayed.

Not sure why it needed a random to make a blog post about it though

gamerchick · 13/09/2017 20:59

Action against what? Has his feels been hurt, does he want compensation for this violence of words against the poor menz?

He's either the husband or wants some attention. Nobody is that po faced unless they're looking for something to be po faced about.

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 13/09/2017 20:59

"Dr Niall Macrae is a lecturer in mental health."
Am I alone in finding that fact rather worrying?

Sparklingbrook · 13/09/2017 21:19
Shock
hackmum · 13/09/2017 21:28

The man is clearly a monumental bellend.

hackmum · 13/09/2017 21:30

He actually works at King's, heaven help us.

Sparklingbrook · 13/09/2017 21:34

He's written a book called 'The Moon and Madness' about the moon's effect on your mood from what I can make out.

The guy is a knob but if a man had said half the things that were said on that thread you'd be baying for his blood, even if it was in jest.

Sparklingbrook · 13/09/2017 21:40

Has the thread been deleted anyway. Confused

DarthMaiden · 13/09/2017 21:42

I don't think promoting the article by supplying the link is helpful tbh.

It's hugely selective in its content and makes some quite ludicrous claims and comparisons.

pennysnow · 13/09/2017 21:43

My name is mentioned in that article. Shock

Why was this thread started?! The OP doesn't want it advertising any more widely surely?

It is an awful article. I know it's a risk you take when you post stuff on the internet, but this article is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. And this 'journalist' is a bit lame' coming to mumsnet for his stories.

I do have to say however, that some of the comments about murdering the OP's husband were pretty severe and out of order. As someone said, imagine if it was a man offering to murder someone's wife for them, for forgetting to do something.

I know people are kind of joking, but some of the comments were below the belt.

Lovingmybear2 · 13/09/2017 21:43

It's a tongue in cheek isn't it?

thecatfromjapan · 13/09/2017 21:44

Does this Niall McCrae work at the Maudsley?

Am I alone in thinking I would not trust a man who appears to dislike women talking publicly and freely (to the point that he seems to wish to censor us) to give me any advice about MH?

He seems to have issues about women.

LakieLady · 13/09/2017 21:44

I have always been of the opinion that, when you manage to piss off a Tory, you must be doing something right.

The (perhaps somewhat warped) MN collective sense of humour is clearly too subtle for this monumental knobcheese.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 13/09/2017 22:07

😂 what a bell-end!!

IvorHughJarrs · 13/09/2017 23:20

Am I the only person who can't see that blog? Just can't get it to open

bobthebuddha · 13/09/2017 23:20

Florence is me, soso. I was so utterly livid at that article that I had to say something. I didn't want to draw it to your attention and read your update thread hoping desperately that you wouldn't find out about it, as you already have quite enough to deal with, supporting your DS. I'm so sorry that arses like this are pulling more crap down on your head. I didn't see the author's response as I had to walk away from it before I blew a gasket. Sorry Flowers

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 23:30

"it is a bit bad form to discuss one site on another"

Since when? I don't remember seeing that page in ladies' books on manners and etiquette.

"Or do we all love Reddit now"

Yes we do. Search Reddit for MumsNet and ye shall find Smile

bobthebuddha · 13/09/2017 23:32

Agggh, my blood pressure has gone through the roof again, thinking about him and that Gyngell woman and their utterly cynical, , woman-blaming, politically-motivated, manufactured outrage - not to mention those feckin' troglodytes below-the-line. Must not go back now, have had too much wine!!
