I know this is an TAAT but does anyone know what happened to the poster whose husband didn't submit the application for their DS and his test? Have been thinking about them all day

Thank you! I found it just after I posted this, like an idiot. :(

OP posts:
Bobbins43 · 12/09/2017 23:09

Bah. Gone again :(

Ellie56 · 12/09/2017 23:11

I've been wondering too. What was the update?

cluelessnewmum · 12/09/2017 23:12

Oh no, I take it she wasn't able to convince them to let her son to take the exam? I really hope she finds a way Sad

Frazzled2207 · 12/09/2017 23:16

Following if anyone can say what happened

steppemum · 12/09/2017 23:19

her son isn't allowed to take the exam.
She was telling her ds tonight.

bellabelly · 12/09/2017 23:22

Oh dear - I was really hoping it had gone quiet because she was getting somewhere with some sympathetic admissions person and was too busy to post on here.

InsomniacAnonymous · 12/09/2017 23:29

It's sad that someone reported that thread as being a TAAT and it got deleted, since the only reason the first thread was deleted is the identifying information, which didn't apply to the latest thread.

ilovepixie · 12/09/2017 23:30

Why were the threads deleted?

Ellie56 · 12/09/2017 23:30

Oh no! That poor boy.Sad

JigglyTuff · 12/09/2017 23:31

Oh no :( That poor boy

mumof06darlings · 12/09/2017 23:33

That's awful. Poor boy 😩

steppemum · 12/09/2017 23:34

pixie the first was was deleted by Op as it had name of the school etc, and she felt it was all too outing and may prejudice her ds chances if it went on DM etc.

second thread was a thread about a thread which isn't allowed.
For that reason, this one will go puff soon too.

MumW · 12/09/2017 23:40

Well, on the off chance that OP reads this before it goes, tell your DS that he should be very proud of his hard work, dedication and application. It proves he has it in him to succeed in life in his own right in spite of his stupid father.

krisskross · 12/09/2017 23:45

Why didnt the DH submit the paperwork?

Ellie56 · 12/09/2017 23:57

Why didnt the DH submit the paperwork?
I don't think we ever found that out.

youhavetobekidding · 13/09/2017 07:45

He claimed he forgot

FineOldCriminals · 13/09/2017 07:53

Oh no! I know it's a MN cliche, but what he's done (the lying, not the forgetting) would be firmly into LTB territory, considering he'd previously left the wifework to the OP.

Hoppinggreen · 13/09/2017 08:07

Sadly I know the schools in question and have a good friend who is involved in the exam
I asked her about taking the exam after the application deadline and she said it doesn't happen so I wasn't hopeful
Every year there are some who try but as far as she knows it's never happened even when a legal challenge has happened
This thread will go soon I'm sure as it's a TAAT but I've offered OP some advice about other schools in our area who offer good academic/rugby scholarships so maybe she will go down that route
I really feel for that poor boy, it's awful

Bobbins43 · 13/09/2017 08:49

I don't know why I'm so invested in this but I really hope her son was OK yesterday

There are times when the "thread about a thread rule" is total bollocks. This was one of them, as a lot of us really wanted to know how the OP was. And her DS.

Bobbins43 · 13/09/2017 08:51

yesyesyes Shatner's Wig

OP posts:
ShatnersWig · 13/09/2017 08:55

Can anyone tell me WHY that rule exists please?

steppemum · 13/09/2017 09:02

Hopping - I found this actually one of those times when mn was at its best and worst.
loads of lovely support for op in a terrible position.
But thos of us who know the system know there is zero chance he would be allowed to take the test, and his only chance is to take it in March as a late entrant, and take that risk of being at the bottom of the allocation list.
So much bad advice from people who haven't a clue.
