to be peed off about the number of deleted threads?

ProperLavs · 11/09/2017 17:16

My thread choice is pretty random. I don't hang around particular boards, but loads of threads I have been on have been deleted for who knows what reasons. There have been 2 in 24 hours.
Clearly I need to hang out in gardeners' corner then there wouldn't be any issues...or would there?

It happens when complaints are made about suspected fake posts. Or sometimes the OP asks for it to be deleted because it's too outing.

I know it's a shame sometimes.

AnyFucker · 11/09/2017 17:20

Only 2 ?

FuzzyCustard · 11/09/2017 17:20

There's a Gardeners' Corner???

NotAgainYoda · 11/09/2017 17:23

I don't care. Better that that people waste their time or there's a protracted bunfight.

And if someone wants their own thread deleted, that's fine too. They don't owe us anything.

But you know it's bad if Gardening is being trolled

ProperLavs · 11/09/2017 17:30

2 in the last 24 AF. Over the last few weeks there have been loads that I have been on.

I found Gardening. I love you all!

demirose87 · 11/09/2017 17:50

I've noticed this too. The last one was cos someone was making offensive remarks, but there were a few others I returned to and saw that they had been deleted, with no idea why, obviously I'd missed something x

GirlOnATrainToShite · 11/09/2017 17:51

It's actually quite difficult to get your own thread deleted Grin

ChelleDawg2020 · 11/09/2017 17:55

Threads should never be removed. Criminal or libellous posts should be removed or edited, but the thread itself should be left. I've never seen a thread where every single post was inappropriate and it seems wrong to remove the posts which were balanced and helpful along with all the unacceptable ones.

Maybe "dodgy" threads could be bumped into a sub-forum, clearly marked so that nobody accidentally stumbles across them.

MadamePomfrey · 11/09/2017 17:56

2 in 24 hrs is nothing! Bad days and there can be multiple deletions an hr! Hope HQ are enjoying a rest Wink

ProperLavs · 11/09/2017 17:58

Maybe I curse the threads. If I go to gardeners' corner they'll be a bun fight over a marrow . I'd best stay away.

chasingstarsthisevening · 11/09/2017 18:00

There was an odd one before that was taken down as I was reading it.

I do wish MN would wait until I'd finished reading !

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal · 11/09/2017 18:04

I agree that they shouldn't be taken down just because the OP hasn't got the answer they wanted. It's very annoying.

I had one on my watch list that's just completely disappeared. It's been happening a lot recently.

ProperLavs · 11/09/2017 18:07

I don't watch that many thread so to have 2 of them disappear in a day was a feat. I have no doubt there are multiple deletions each hour.

NotAgainYoda · 11/09/2017 18:24

Chelle

I don't care whether the OP is narked they haven't got the answer they wanted and has had the thread taken down. I don't care that someone doesn't acknowledge I'm right and they are wrong Grin. Maybe they don't like people disagreeing with them in general; maybe they'll think about what other people said later.

People post in a state of high emotion sometimes and they haven't thought through how they'll feel if people don't tell them what they want to hear. Also sometimes people are just too rude or hurtful to someone who's in a state.

NotAgainYoda · 11/09/2017 18:25

sorry, my last post was to Courtney

kali110 · 11/09/2017 18:27

Yes or because people have called troll so mumsnet deleted it rather than the posters Hmm

GirlOnATrainToShite · 11/09/2017 18:29

I think where an OP is getting flamed bullied it's ok for the OPto ask for it the deleted.

It can be upsetting if you are having an off day anyway.

TimingIsEverything · 11/09/2017 18:31

Sometimes the most obviously trolling threads get left up for ages whereas other doubtful ones get deleted almost immediately ((shrugs))

KurriKurri · 11/09/2017 18:31

It's always the deleted threads where I have posted my best replies - which is annoying, They never delete the ones where I've said something stupid or irrelevant Grin

Off to gardening to pretend my dahlias have greenfly when they really don't. Grin

SerfTerf · 11/09/2017 18:31

It's trolls you're pissed odd with really, then?

SilverySurfer · 11/09/2017 18:32

Not any more - I've seen threads where the responses disagreed practically 100% with the OPs who then threw a wobbly and the threads were closed, no RL info divulged - they didn't like being told they were unreasonable.

CockacidalManiac · 11/09/2017 18:36

There was one removed today about the death of a cat that was really fucked up. Some of these trolls are severely disturbed.
