To think people need to stop posting here for traffic

The most irrelevant posts come up in AIBU it's AIBU and I don't understand why people have to fill it with nonsense simply for traffic, it annoys me.

OP posts:
wildbhoysmama · 30/08/2017 17:10

Well don't read them then if it annoys you. Simple.

DorothyGherkins · 30/08/2017 17:12

I read any old shit wherever it is. Never take much notice of where it is.

Nuttynoo · 30/08/2017 17:13

I agree. I especially hate the ones where posters use aibu instead of Google.

WyfOfBathe · 30/08/2017 17:17

YANBU. I wanted to make a post a while ago saying "if it doesn't start with AIBU it doesn't belong in AIBU" but I thought I would be flamed.

AlpacaLypse · 30/08/2017 17:18

Any fule kno AIBU is purely for P and C parking spaces, CFN disputes, disabled lavatory use questions and bridezilla tales!

PresentlyTense · 30/08/2017 17:18

Erm, isin'' t that what you're doing now? I don't care where things are posted. If I'm interested I'll read, if not I won't!

VyvyanBasterd · 30/08/2017 20:29

I'm with you, OP.

00100001 · 30/08/2017 20:59

You're post is irrelevant. You aren't the AIBU police

ChickenVindaloo2 · 30/08/2017 21:36

Nah. Way more annoying are thread titles that don't make it clear what they're about eg "AIBU to be annoyed about this" so:
a) I don't know whether I cba to read it or not
b) I don't always realise I've read it already (if I'm using a different device).

TeaChest100 · 30/08/2017 21:38

If you don't want it to end in a blood-bath then it doesn't belong in AIBU!

cheminotte · 30/08/2017 21:40

Haha - whyever not??

Flumpernickel · 30/08/2017 21:45

YABU

Escapepeas · 30/08/2017 21:46

Then perhaps Active shouldn't include AIBU but change the algorithms so that people who have posted in other forums get longer in Active rather than being bumped straight down.

I've tried posting in the relevant forums once or twice and got no response at all because everyone just refreshes Active all the time.

CoolCarrie · 30/08/2017 21:48

Isn't this a TAAT...?

Sparklingbrook · 30/08/2017 21:48

I hid AIBU topic for a while because it was so ridiculous. I have unhidden it now and just hide threads as I go.

Someone said it should be renamed 'Petty Gripes' which is a far better description.

Dustbunny1900 · 30/08/2017 21:49

Shit sorry , damn post button. Yea I agree because if ppl would post in the relevant topics, then they'd get more traffic :/

Spuddington · 30/08/2017 21:49

YABU.

Bluntness100 · 30/08/2017 21:51

Honestly? Who gives a shit. Let the mn staff sort it if they have an issue with it. Do you also police parent and child parking at the supermarket? Hmm

TeaChest100 · 30/08/2017 21:51

Actually OP I think you are wrong, and I find your comments really offensive. How can you possibly think you're right?!

TeaChest100 · 30/08/2017 21:52

There's no 'think' about it in fact. You are absolutely wrong.

Sparklingbrook · 30/08/2017 21:53

You can't really say anything about threads/topics etc without being accused of being the thread police.

I think everyone has something on MN that annoys them don't they?

TabbyMumz · 30/08/2017 21:57

I'm never quite sure what "posting for traffic" means?

ragz134 · 30/08/2017 21:57

I'm in, it annoys me too. Especially weight loss ones as there is a huge section for that and it is definitely not unreasonable to want to lose weight!

ragz134 · 30/08/2017 21:58

Also, give me a high-vis vest and a clip-board and I will happily police the Parent and Child parking spaces! I do a good hard stare...

Sparklingbrook · 30/08/2017 21:59

posting for traffic means 'don't have a go at me for using AIBU about this but I want LOADS of replies.'
