Just find her annoying and trying too hard to be funny. I know a lot of people love her and I know I dont need to follow her on fb. Anyone else?

We're not mind-readers OP. How about a bit more information?

ApuskiDoo · 26/08/2017 13:46

It's not my cup of tea but then I find all the public mumming and discussion of it all a bit much.

I just kind of do my own thing, work outside the home and try not to agonize about how I compare.

iklboo · 26/08/2017 13:47

Unmumsy Mum is a FB poster / blogger type person TwitterQueen

FallingOrbit · 26/08/2017 13:48

Really have little to no idea what you're talking about. Elaborate?

HelloSquirrels · 26/08/2017 13:48

I actually really like her.

MorrisZapp · 26/08/2017 13:49

Yes the pissed sweary mum stuff is wearing thin. I'm a pissed sweary mum but I'd rather read a good book or watch Netflix than read about someone else's annoying brats and lazy husband.

thepatchworkcat · 26/08/2017 13:50

So don't follow her. It's a bit mean to start a thread just to slag someone off isn't it?

millsbynight · 26/08/2017 13:50

I read her first book and thought it was really funny! But I haven't followed her musings since then so I don't know.. I do find these bloggers tend to have a shelf life though.

TwitterQueen1 · 26/08/2017 13:52

Ah thanks Iklboo! Clearly I am very ignorant..... Grin

YouCantCallMeBetty · 26/08/2017 13:55

Yep gets on my wick too. Not specifically her but the kind of brand she and others (e.g. Constance whatshername) have created. It seems that there's no middle ground available between these 'oh good parenting is awful, I need 3 litres of wine a day to get me through it' and the uber virtuous mummy bloggers who peddle the 'being a perfect mummy is my world' view.
Each to their own and all that and I know she's done wonders for lots of people's parenting self esteem but not for me really.

Everyone is allowed an opinion patchwork. No mallice meant.

Yeah it just seems a bit ott..especially the sweary stuff. Would be good to be paid for being a Mum though I suppose.

I unfollowed her a while ago. I used to find her funny but it's all a bit samey and boring now. I don't really like any of the mum blogs. Its mostly "kids are horrendous, let's drink gin". I still like Bunmi Laditan, I find her very funny but I think generally the whole mummy blogger scene has had it's day.
I also hate when they start to get popular and then every post is a #ad.

KatharinaRosalie · 26/08/2017 14:00

It's not mandatory to read the blog if it's not your thing

missyB1 · 26/08/2017 14:01

she was funny at first but has probably had her day now. Hats off to her for coming up with the idea though.

grandOlejukeofYork · 26/08/2017 14:02

How can you find someone's writing annoying if you don't read it? You can't, so either stop reading it, or stop complaining. Preferably both.

PoorYorick · 26/08/2017 14:02

I never met a parent blogger, whether sappy and spiritual or "hilarious" and sweary, that I didn't utterly fucking loathe. Having a child has made me hate them more.

TurnipCake · 26/08/2017 14:04

I avoid these blogs/groups. I could probably make up my own,

"Stubbed my toe and said fuck so loudly my toddler heard and repeated it in Sainsburys, I need a gin, husband is working late again the arsehole, need a gin. Did I mention I like gin?"

LorLorr2 · 26/08/2017 14:06

Mum bloggers & vloggers make me cringe but if it helps people and some women can relate, then good for them haha

krummymummy · 26/08/2017 14:06

I'm annoyed she got there first. I could write a trilogy of stuff. Grin

jd88123 · 26/08/2017 14:09

Haha so true about the gin! Yeah if it helps people great.

There are lots of things around that I don't like reading/watching. Game of Thrones for example... I think it's a pile of shit. So guess what? I don't watch it.
Don't like it... don't read it. I'm a SAHM of a 3 and a 2 year old and haven't read a single 'mummy' blog. I didn't even really know they existed until I read threads on here slagging them off! So they're obviously pretty easy to avoid...

QueenMortificado · 26/08/2017 14:22

Yep it's boring

But what's more boring is the ongoing references to gin and prosecco. Like it's original somehow. I like both but don't need to relate my entire life to a reliance on either.
