Just find her annoying and trying too hard to be funny. I know a lot of people love her and I know I dont need to follow her on fb. Anyone else?

The only decent parenting blog is the gin mum one - can't remember it's name.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 26/08/2017 14:28

I can't stand any of them and avoid blogs like the plague. My friend is a fan of the unmumsie mum one which is why I've heard of it, I just smile and nod when she talks about it, try to resist the urge to tell her it's a pile of shite.
Each to their own though.

Jackiebrambles · 26/08/2017 14:29

I quite like her, she seems like a genuinely nice person but I must admit I'm starting to find the whole 'mummy blogger' thing is getting a bit old.

Particularly now it's all them getting free stuff and posting about it 'oh look this is where we are on holiday' thanks . And of course the #ad stuff about flipping Persil or whatever.

I should just unfollow tbh.

lilbaby · 26/08/2017 14:30

Exactly...if it's not your preference just it ignore .. the same as you would ignore all other leisure type activities/ genres of tv / film/ literature that you don't like. I really don't get the vitriol to all these mum bloggers/bloggers/instamums etc ... whatever you want to call them. So what if they make money out of it, so what if they have a life different to yours or mine. It doesn't impact you if you don't follow them. You don't like it? Don't follow or stop following. No one is forcing you.

Viviennemary · 26/08/2017 14:30

never heard of her. But sounds really boring.

Katedotness1963 · 26/08/2017 14:36

I don't follow any of them but occasionally I see them on FB because a friend likes or shares them. They all seem to have the same script...my kids are shits, my husband is an arsehole, oh, naughty me, I've said fuck again, pass the gin/wine/prosecco. Boring and very probably a load of bollocks.

VioletCharlotte · 26/08/2017 14:41

I think she's actually one of the better Mummy bloggers. Her stuff is normally pretty down to earth and she clearly adores her kids.

Peter and Jane however drives me insane!

WipsGlitter · 26/08/2017 14:49

Peter and Jane need an editor. It is funny but way too long.

There's a pair called the scummy mummies. I think they're comedians but just look so cringe I can't bear to watch them.

ticketytock1 · 26/08/2017 14:52

Yanbu.. I unfollowed her on fb and insta. She's a melter

ZaraW · 26/08/2017 14:54

I have no idea who she is and I'm not about to find out you can just stop following her I'm sure she wouldn't care.

FizzyGreenWater · 26/08/2017 14:58

But what else do you do once you have children if you're a needy wannabe cool dude?

WomblingThree · 26/08/2017 15:00

I don't understand why "mummy bloggers" can hilariously rely on alcohol to get them through the day, yet the cider heads in the bus station are dirty alkies.

Is it supposed to be tongue in cheek? It's interesting how upper-middle class allusions to alcoholism are funny, but working class (or so-called underclass) women acting the same would be vilified.

oldlaundbooth · 26/08/2017 15:01

She's a feckin pain in the ass that woman.

Birkenstocks and all.

Littlechip · 26/08/2017 15:02

Lol at all the people turning up to say 'unfollow if you don't like the content' - you saw the thread title, now take your own advice.
Never read a mummy blog that was funny or original. Blathering on about how much gin you drink, swearing, calling your kids dicks. No thanks, I find it repellent. No better place to say that than Mumsnet IMO.

grandOlejukeofYork · 26/08/2017 15:03

How is she a pain in the ass? If you don't choose to read it it has no effect on you of any kind.

Honestly, you're all sitting around reading things you hate just so you can bitch about them later. Read a bloody book or something!

Ttbb · 26/08/2017 15:03

She's not that funny.

Jackiebrambles · 26/08/2017 15:07

Yes the scummy mummies are stand up comics. At least mummy blogging isn't their actual job!

Jackiebrambles · 26/08/2017 15:09

I've also been pondering, all of them have open instagram accounts and post pics of their kids daily and we all know their names.

I can't help but think that's a bit unfair when the kids have no choice in the matter. I guess that's where the #ad comes in, they want to earn enough that the exposure won't matter.

ImDoingLaundry · 26/08/2017 15:51

Do you also go to the gigs of bands you hate? I doubt it.

If you don't like her, stop following her. I can't stand Steven Seagal, but I don't watch his films then complain about how much he annoys me Hmm

jd88123 · 26/08/2017 15:54

Im doing laundry u just did complainGrin

Generally these 'mummy bloggers' make me shudder and cringe. But I think the Unmumsy Mum is quite sweet and funny - she comes across as a genuinely nice person.

missmollyhadadolly · 26/08/2017 15:59

Ecureuil

When did you become thread police? People are allowed to have a discussion you know.

ImDoingLaundry · 26/08/2017 15:59

Haha I see your point JD BlushGrin but reading one thread is a teeny bit different to going back and subjecting yourself to more annoyance

WomanEmpire · 26/08/2017 16:02

I like unmumsy mum. I like hurrah for gin. Although agree with the gin comments above, I'm not sure any of them know that ANYONE can buy gin.
I adore Mother Pukka.

Mother of Daughters makes me see red. I used to love her in the beginning. However I think she comes off as seriously arrogant, snobby and just rude really.

Kintan · 26/08/2017 16:05

I agree. Even her blog name is annoying. How can one be an unmumsy mum - are all other mothers mumsy (what ever that word even means) clones of each other?
