To do blackpool mini break with only £100

We are off to blackpool in sept mid week for one night away. We have booked our hotel and train tickets for 80 for both so they are paid for.

Do you think £100 will cover expenses for two days or AIBU.

Bit more info theres me my DH DS whos 2 1/2 and DD will be 12 weeks. We arent looking to go up the tower or go to the fair so thats a fortune saved already.

Any cheap fun ideas to do while there?

You might struggle.

The beach, sand dunes, parks are all free, weather permitting of course.

Stanley park is great, you could take butties from the Aldi that's just up the road and spend an afternoon or full morning there. There's trampolines and a little train that goes round, probably all for under a tenner.

Do you need to pay for evening meal I mean?

I think if you go the picnic / fish and chips route you should be OK. Are BBQs allowed on the beach? You could get a disposable one if so.

The trams that run up and down the sea front are fun and cheap, you can hop on and off them with a day return ticket.

cleveleys sea front is lovely with a little children's fun fairr, nice shops and cafes, tram will take you there.

£50 a day for 2 adults and a small child should be enough if your not too bothered about doing or eating fancy stuff but all it would take is one expensive thing that you see or that your child wants to do or one of the days being really rainy and you need to find inside things to do and the budget would be wiped out.

If you can find a bit more then I would but if not you should be able to stretch it.

nope havent got breakfast included in our hotel but its only about £7 each kids eat free all you can eat buffet style at the restaurant attached to the hotel or am going to take porridge pots to eat in the hotel room. My husband eats really healthy so this would suit him better and well i try to eat healthy... the toddler is happy as long as he eats hes a gannet.

The kids are just tots and wont eat much!
Penny Farm is a horse and donkey sanctuary located just south of Blackpool, you can catch the bus out to it. I think it's free to enter but obviously it would be good to leave a bit of a donation.
St Anne's seafront is good for tots with a play park, you can catch the tram to it.
I think you will be fine, take some drinks with you and for an emergency cheap picnic we buy a baguette, houmous and fruit!

What are you planning on doing whilst you're there? Ticket costs etc. for it all?

we have got more to take in reality could prob afford £150 - £200 but just because we have it i dont want to spend a fortune. We have a afternoon at the arcades planned for the toddler which wont cost much he just likes the 2p machines. In the evening there is the illuminations.

Yes great idea 're the arcades, if you jump on & off the trams you could wander on the piers, they are fairly nice. It's a nice walk along the front but a long way for little legs.

Do you have a Tesco Club Card ?

If so look at whats available for days out using your points.

I don't know Blackpool but my DS is 2 1/2 and would happily spend a whole day on a beach whether that is sand or rocks. If there's a park and a small train/tram ride too then all the better.

So long as you and DH are able to stick to the budget then it should be fine. Embrace the challenge! As it's only one night away fish and chips would be great and picnics during the day. You can see how you're doing and splash out on lunch in a cafe on the last day.

Also look online and see if there are any free indoor activities incase the weather turns (library/museum/art gallery).

So, £100 for one breakfast, one dinner and perhaps two lunches? I think you'll be fine, especially if you're not fussed about a drink. Have a lovely time; hope it stays dry for you.

Yes you can do I live in bolton so Blackpool is my nearest seaside we often go for an afternoon we never bother with the attractions we just go on the beach and arcades.

I've not been for years but if it rains the sandcastle would be £32 for you all.

There's plenty cheap and cheerful places to eat so even if you did that one day I reckon £100 could cover it. Porridge pots, Tesco meal deal for lunch, buy a three pack of ice lollies from Tesco rather than cones, chips for tea and the team up and down the prom for the illuminations?

You can buy a day ticket to use on Blackpool trams and buses for £5 a day

I live in blackpool and there's quite a lot of free or relatively cheap stuff to do such as arcades, trip to the beach, walk down the prom or the piers, Stanley park. My kids love running about on the sand dunes down south shore. It's £5 for a bus/pram day pass and there's enough room for a double buggy ☺
