IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 18/08/2017 11:05

Still none the wiser...

blubberball · 18/08/2017 11:12

I've had trouble with them. I wanted to buy a small piece of furniture, but they were out of stock they told me. There were 2 on display, so I asked if I could just buy one of them (at full price), just stick it in the car and drive it home. I was in business to buy the furniture, and they were in business to sell the furniture, so I thought that we might be able to come to some sort of deal. But computer said no...

InspMorse · 18/08/2017 11:19

Eh? What are they stopping you from doing OP? Buying a kitchen? How?
'Blubber' You can't buy their display furniture! Until it's taken down to bargain corner that is.

Phosphorus · 18/08/2017 11:25

This isn't FB, OP.

Vaguebooking won't get you anywhere.

BrokeAndBad · 18/08/2017 11:29

After two (most unsuccessful - various separate reasons) planning appointments ... I've decided to go ahead and order ...

Thought with my quote I could just go in and order... Nope! Need to make an appointment!!!!!

No appointments until next week!!

I. Just. Want. My. New. Kitchen.

I know I sound like a spoilt brat, but I've waited a loooong time and now I just want it done plus I'm getting a dishwasher for first time ever and I hate washing upHmm

BrokeAndBad · 18/08/2017 11:29

Just needed to vent.

LBOCS2 · 18/08/2017 11:32

You don't need an appointment to order a kitchen; if you're happy with it all you can add it all online and then print off your shopping list. It still gets collected in the flatpack hall.

We paid £15 for the 'gathering up' service they offered. Which was very worth it!

BrokeAndBad · 18/08/2017 11:34

To get the finance you need to make an appointment Hmm

OP posts:
gobbynorthernbird · 18/08/2017 11:37

You didn't think you'd need to make an appointment in order to (effectively) borrow a load of money of them? That's hardly their fault.

PandorasXbox · 18/08/2017 11:39

You need finance to buy the kitchen but you thought you'd just be able to phone up and order it?

BrokeAndBad · 18/08/2017 11:41

Yadda yadda yadda lol

OP posts:
LBOCS2 · 18/08/2017 11:42

Well that's a financial issue, not a kitchen ordering issue. The kitchen is there, the funding is not - that's what your appointment is for.

glitterlips1 · 18/08/2017 12:03

No idea as to what you're rambling about.

GirlcalledJames · 18/08/2017 12:05

I bought something from the display in Ikea last week, got a discount too. It's just a faff for the employee but can be done.

SoupDragon · 18/08/2017 12:08

To get the finance you need to make an appointment Hmm

And you are surprised at this? Confused

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 18/08/2017 12:13

You think they're just going to let you order £££ of kitchen on HP online?? Have you come across credit agreements before?!

Flybye · 18/08/2017 12:14

Bloody hell back off would you? Op is just having a rant. Jeez Hmm

hula008 · 18/08/2017 12:18

Yeah you can't order the kitchen until you've paid for it and they can't just hand you the finance then and there!

PandorasXbox · 18/08/2017 12:20

What do you suggest we should have said then Flybye? Hmm.

IHateUncleJamie · 18/08/2017 12:27

Yadda yadda yadda lol

Nope - none the wiser. 😐

TheFirstMrsDV · 18/08/2017 12:38

You can tell we are at the thick end of the school holidays.
I am pretty sure that at most other times a vent about Ikea would be met with a chorus of 'OMG YES!' and 'bastards!' Grin

Personally I adore Ikea. I am particularly pleased that they appeared to read my mind and produce an outdoor standard lamp, complete with fringing, that is now sitting outside my shed.
