Really? It's after 10pm!

How bloody selfish and antisocial.

OP posts:
TittyGolightly · 05/08/2017 22:10

They tend to work better when it's dark, dear. 😉

finnmcool · 05/08/2017 22:11

Round my way, fireworks during the day mean the drugs have arrived 😁
It's before 11pm, no dramas.

StepAwayFromCake · 05/08/2017 22:14

Then maybe a summer night I s not the best time to choose to have fireworks.

OP posts:
Ameliablue · 05/08/2017 22:19

I think they should only be allowed for organised public displays.

Allthebestnamesareused · 05/08/2017 22:21

Maybe they are having a wedding reception somewhere nearby.

BikeRunSki · 05/08/2017 22:22

There is a country house hotel about quarter of a mile from us. They have fireworks most summer weekends (I guess for weddings). We're at the bottom of a valley, the noise echoes like anything. I am in long standing discussion with the council noise people.,

FrankiesKnuckle · 05/08/2017 22:35

Are you in West Sussex? Wink

ArtyKitty · 05/08/2017 22:49

I see your random weekend fireworks and raise you the Edinburgh Military Tattoo! Grin

HLBug · 05/08/2017 22:51

I see your random weekend fireworks and raise you the Edinburgh Military Tattoo!

Oh bless you!!!

MrsSeverusSnape · 05/08/2017 22:56

If you live near me, apologies. It was DH popping some of that packaging that's like big bubble wrap before he put it in the wheelie bin. It did sound like fireworks though.

ratspeaker · 05/08/2017 23:06

You're not in Edinburgh are you?
If so they'll go on for the next three weeks.
Every night.

Funnyface1 · 05/08/2017 23:08

It's happening here too.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 05/08/2017 23:10

Ooh I I can hear them too, I'm in yorkshire. Is there something happening tonight?

Dee03 · 05/08/2017 23:11

Think you must live locally to me op

shalalala · 05/08/2017 23:12

We have them too - Surrey?

DontTouchTheMoustache · 05/08/2017 23:12

It's apparently national underwear day in America...but it's probably not for that

Dee03 · 05/08/2017 23:13

Ooh yes Surrey/sussex....fireworks were actually in Surrey though Hmm

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/08/2017 23:19

I'll join you in bemoaning the tattoo ArtyKitty!!! They're only a few hundred yards from my house, it's so bloody loud.

Every night, and twice at weekend, for 3+ weeks. I so love the festival!

SistersOfPercy · 05/08/2017 23:26

We keep getting them in the day here. Local rumor mill has decided this is the local drug dealers informing customers of new stock Grin
Presumably mobile phones don't work around that area.....

Always thought fireworks a waste of cash anyway so letting them off in the day seems batshit to me.

ArtyKitty · 05/08/2017 23:30

You know, I actually quite like it. I used to live on the Royal Mile and even then, when the windows shook, I enjoyed feeling part of the city.

SexandDrugsandaNiceCuppa · 05/08/2017 23:59

Definitely West Sussex, (near EG??). Lots of people whining about it on FB earlier.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 06/08/2017 00:45

Don't move to Edinburgh then.

We have fireworks every year for every night for pretty much the whole of August and twice on Saturday nights and then the fireworks for the end of the Festival. I love it.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 06/08/2017 00:50

Ah I see there are a few other Edinburghers! I lived in Grindlay Street when I first moved here- that was noisy. Still pretty noisy where I am now.

10greenapples · 06/08/2017 01:09

They were doing them at midnight round near me the other day. Thought that was taking the piss tbh

indigox · 06/08/2017 01:28

I knew this thread was going to be full of Edinburghers Grin
