Holiday villa noise hell

Help I'm so wound up!
Booked a villa for 2 weeks very near the beach, off the beaten track, supposed to be quiet, peaceful (very expensive, belongs to a friend who rents it out).

While the place is lovely, our whole holiday is being blighted by a huge group of teenagers -for whom the concrete drive (can't think of the word, slope for boats going down to the sea) is obviously their local hangout. It's runs next to the villa & they use the villa to sit against, even on the steps so we can't get out without tiptoeing through their towels & stuff.

From about midday onwards they arrive & stay till midnight drinking, shouting (I think this is just normal talking for them but it sounds like arguing!) playing tinny rap music type thing on their phones, over the top pda & haven't seen it but deffo smell cannabis.

Thing is, I was a wild teenager drinking, cannabis once or twice etc & we had hangouts but ffs they just completely ignore us, don't even look at us or say hello. They seem slightly pissed off with us even. I texted my friend & she just said ah they must be the kids who hang out on the veranda (apparently when no ones there they jump over the wall & sit on the veranda all day leaving rubbish etc)

Anyway it is what it is but I can feel my stress levels rising, anyone think of anything I can do about it? 1.5 weeks left. Stink bombs??

We can't really go out all day either it's fricking hot, my son needs to be near a power source for his meds & it's miles from the nearest town. Help me!!!!!

Join them.
It's the only way.
Put your towels down too and have a lovely wholesome picnic.
Games and songs a bonus.

They'll soon fuck off elsewhere.

Motherofterriers · 05/08/2017 18:19

Do you have any means of playing music outdoors? If so, as loud as you can, something they won't like. Maybe a bit of Abba, or something classical. They will move off and find somewhere quieter

HouseOfGoldandBones · 05/08/2017 18:25

What about those whistles that only teenagers can hear?

I'm sure you could download one, and just play it on a loop until they leave.

Rach5l · 05/08/2017 18:58

Would the whistle annoy ds12 too?

I agree with joining them, they will soon get the message.

Supermagicsmile · 05/08/2017 20:10

Set up your towels and music before they get there tomorrow and if they come, chat to them and play your music. They'll soon go elsewhere!
What country are you in? Do you speak their language?

Notevilstepmother · 05/08/2017 20:12

Play this over and over

BumWad · 05/08/2017 20:12

Yes just lay your stuff down there tomorrow am sharpish

PearlyPinkNails · 05/08/2017 20:14

It's a mosquito whistle but I would just ask them to move...Bonjour/Hola etc, I'm going to have to ask you guys to move somewhere else today, we are staying here and you're in our way. (Big smile)

Madbengalmum · 05/08/2017 20:15

I agree get your stuff down there and your music and i bet they wont come near!

specialsubject · 05/08/2017 20:18

Slipway.

They need to be kept nice and clean with a good powerful hosepipe. That would be a helpful thing to do.

Screaming outside someone's house for 12 hours a day deserves no respect.

Rach5l · 05/08/2017 20:39

SLIPWAY! Of course.

Yeah, I mean that sounds sensible but we did that (by accident) first couple of days & they surrounded us (in a slightly passive aggressive way!) plus we can't stay out all day let along midday it's 40 degrees they are hardcore!!

There is a hose in the villa...got a feeling they'd either love being sprayed or would start ww3!

It's only me, ds12 & dd5. Never thought I'd say this but kind of wish shouty exh was here he'd probably intimidate them!

Ffs I need peace Grin

ForalltheSaints · 05/08/2017 20:47

The music they would hate is worth a try.

Rach5l · 06/08/2017 21:28

So I've managed to download the mosquito thing - no effect whatsoever (thank god I would end up feeling bad probably?)

I wish now my kids were more cheeky & irritating Grin I could get them to chuck water balloons or play frisbee over them or something! They're too quiet! Growing up with a shouty angry dad does that Sad dd told me she feels sick anytime she hears shouting Sad

Arghhhhh I just want some peace, this was supposed to be a break away from ex & his stupid games , I guess it still is & I need to chill out. Can anyone cheer me up anyway?

Get a guitar, sit with them and sing some nice 60ish folk songs. You won't see them for dust.

Goldenphoenix · 06/08/2017 21:36

Hide some prawns or a fish down where they sit, won't be long before it stinks to high heaven. When they have left you can remove them and dispose of them to get rid of smell again before the next day.

annielouise · 06/08/2017 21:37

Any horse/donkey/cow manure you can find to spread about where they sit?

gladisgood · 06/08/2017 22:09

I would definitely play something completely uncool. Loudly. Every. time. they. appear. Have a laugh - get your kids to help choose. It could be the best bit of your holiday Grin

Maybe pin up a "wet paint" sign so they can't lean against the villa....!

...or buy some chalks and have a fab morning decorating it so they get covered in primary colours if they sit against the wall... ( I'm guessing they don't get up early!) You'll be able to wash it off with the hose before you leave.

I'm now having visions of the cool teenagers in town having to sit next to a rainbow drawing of Peppa Pig and Friends , smelling of rancid prawns, listening to a Folk song compilation interspersed with a few choice tunes from 100 Nursery Rhyme Favourites. Grin I almost feel sorry for them!

Rach5l · 06/08/2017 22:12
Grin Chalk is a good idea, even because it puts us out there doing something in 'their' space Smile

Fish.. yeah I'll try that

OP posts:
Rach5l · 06/08/2017 22:13

I don't have anything other than my phone to play music on though!

OP posts:
honeysucklejasmine · 06/08/2017 22:28

Did your friend not warn you this might happen? Bit off of her.

AntiHop · 06/08/2017 22:36

You could play some classical music on you tube through your phone.

AngelaTwerkel · 06/08/2017 22:37

This sounds awful. I agree with blasting out the worst music possible. Various police forces have actually used this technique with success!

ginghamstarfish · 06/08/2017 22:41

If your friend charged you for this and didn't warn you about the problem you should be having words with her too! Hope you can resolve this.
