Holiday villa noise hell

Help I'm so wound up!
Booked a villa for 2 weeks very near the beach, off the beaten track, supposed to be quiet, peaceful (very expensive, belongs to a friend who rents it out).

While the place is lovely, our whole holiday is being blighted by a huge group of teenagers -for whom the concrete drive (can't think of the word, slope for boats going down to the sea) is obviously their local hangout. It's runs next to the villa & they use the villa to sit against, even on the steps so we can't get out without tiptoeing through their towels & stuff.

From about midday onwards they arrive & stay till midnight drinking, shouting (I think this is just normal talking for them but it sounds like arguing!) playing tinny rap music type thing on their phones, over the top pda & haven't seen it but deffo smell cannabis.

Thing is, I was a wild teenager drinking, cannabis once or twice etc & we had hangouts but ffs they just completely ignore us, don't even look at us or say hello. They seem slightly pissed off with us even. I texted my friend & she just said ah they must be the kids who hang out on the veranda (apparently when no ones there they jump over the wall & sit on the veranda all day leaving rubbish etc)

Anyway it is what it is but I can feel my stress levels rising, anyone think of anything I can do about it? 1.5 weeks left. Stink bombs??

We can't really go out all day either it's fricking hot, my son needs to be near a power source for his meds & it's miles from the nearest town. Help me!!!!!

What about some jam/sugar water to entice some wasp pals to where they sit? Might clear them away.

chocolatespiders · 06/08/2017 22:43

I just feel gutted for you that you are supposed to be on holiday to relax and this.

Could you play badminton or similar on their bit before they arrive hoping get they move along a bit .

Could you explain you are on holiday to chill it might work

YogiYoni · 06/08/2017 22:43

I think we need a diagram

PelorusJack · 06/08/2017 22:45

What about asking them to move? Depends on the group but if you go out and ask really nicely they might listen. It might help if you have your kids with you.
I've asked big groups of yobby looking teens to do things and have found them to be surprisingly receptive.

mickeysminnie · 06/08/2017 22:45

Tell your friend you want a refund for the second week. She obviously knows there is an issue if they are trespassing on her property and littering.

AtHomeDadGlos · 06/08/2017 22:48

Just tell them to fuck off. And spray the hose. Especially when they're smoking their joint!

Coastalcommand · 06/08/2017 22:51

You can buy a speaker that plays music from your phone fairly cheaply if you can get to a nearby town?

pictish · 06/08/2017 22:59

You need to develop a taste for bad bagpipes. Play this for as long as it takes for them to fuck off.

Elendon · 06/08/2017 23:00

Ask them to join you in a round of Kumbaya My Lord

toomuchtimereadingthreads2016 · 06/08/2017 23:01

You have one week left there. I live in a converted farm house in the countryside in a foreign country. Only a handful of houses nearby. The neighbouring one has been turned into a party house where people seem to turn up, a different group each week, to set up their all day and all night drinking parties, music (sometimes live for events, wedding etc), smoking, rubbish up and down the street, play fighting in the swimming pool at all hours... I have a 3yo and a 5 week old. At least your situation is temporary and the people being noisy actually live there, unlike you.

Rach5l · 06/08/2017 23:08

At least your situation is temporary and the people being noisy actually live there, unlike you. Wow cheers!

Yes friend charged me - she said she heard from her key holder that there had been a lot of rubbish, candle wax etc left on the veranda & she suspected this group 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Elendon
You beat me to it, 150 verses of Kumbaya played on a slightly out of tune guitar should do the trick!
Forgot which age your children are but a selection of verses from wheels on the bus or similar?

MsHarry · 06/08/2017 23:09

Police?

MsWanaBanana · 06/08/2017 23:14

toomuchtimereadingthreads2016 what the hell does any of that have to do with the op? His isn't about you. OP sorry you're holiday is being spoilt. There is nothing worse than paying all that money for a relaxing holiday only for you to be stressed out the whole time. Maybe tomorrow you can take an table and chairs out or maybe some sun beds and kind of take up the space before the group get there? Is that even possible?

rollonthesummer · 06/08/2017 23:16

That is really shite-I feel for you! Your friend is not being terribly helpful though?! How embarrassed would you be if you'd charged someone to stay in your holiday villa and this happened!

Could you go out and buy a speaker to play music from your phone through? At least then you wouldn't have to hear them. Are they locals or tourists?

Elendon · 06/08/2017 23:17

@outabout I forgot the guitar, well remembered. Plus never let that smile leave your face whilst singing. You'll never see them again.

emilybrontescorset · 06/08/2017 23:17

Could you hose down the area where they sit just before they arrive do its soaking wet?

ThinkOfTheHorses · 06/08/2017 23:44

@HouseOfGoldandBones as an adult I can assure you the teenager deflector whistles do work on some of us ... and would effect OPs son

Rach5l · 06/08/2017 23:58

Yes actually I could put two sun loungers on the bit next to the villa Grin I can't stay on them all the time though maybe if I litter it with buckets spades & anything else I can find. What if they nick it though Grin god someone pass me some balls!
