So I went back to dating, after a long relationship. Met this guy, he's amazing and makes me feel good, however I was wondering that it would bother you if a man is not too tall (I'm 1.55 cm and he's 1.70)

Would you see that weird? If I'd wear high heels I'd be taller.

I know I'm being superficial, I really like the guy but this puts me off a bit

Confused

So he's a good 6" taller than you.

I mean, not that it should matter if he were the same height, or shorter, but I don't really understand why you think someone 6" taller than you are, isn't tall enough for you ???

toosexyforyahshirt · 19/07/2017 20:54

Are you a borrower/

I'm 178 cm so have never let it be a problem to me. I even wear 6 inch heels sometimes.

That said, I did refuse to be taller than my dh on our wedding day and since he is exactly the same height as me, I had to wear ballet flats.

Charming1234 · 19/07/2017 20:57

And this is why people are single and struggle to meet "the one"
I couldn't give 2 flying fucks how tall my husband was, he is actually only an inch taller than me but he is my soul mate genuinely. When you know you know. If you're that bothered about height you're not that fussed on him i reckon. Move on to the next Wine

Patriciathestripper1 · 19/07/2017 21:00

I know what you mean.
I personally think when a guy is shorter than his partner it just looks silly.
But hey that just me and I like a big hunky guys.

donquixotedelamancha · 19/07/2017 21:04
  1. Thankyou for using meters.
  1. Imagine a man posted a similar dilemma, because his amazing girlfriend had small breasts. I think some posters might use terms stronger than superficial.

personally I think people who even notice let alone care about the relative heights of other people are very silly.

Greggers2017 · 19/07/2017 21:06

My partner is the best thing that ever happened to me after a long term relationship split and he's the exact same height as me.'it's great no need for heels! Flip flops all the way!

LittleBirdBlues · 19/07/2017 21:11

I agree with the pp who says that if this bothers you and you find it a turn off, he's probably not the one for you.

That's nobody's fault, it's just the way it is.

DH is 1'3" taller than me, not an issue!

namechangeshame12 · 19/07/2017 21:20

Thanks everyone, I feel stupid now. Your input is much appreciated!

OP posts:
Patriciathestripper1 · 19/07/2017 21:25

So you don't agree thats fine as I said It is personal preference you don't have to be nasty about it.
I was addressing the op who asked what people thought.

toosexyforyahshirt · 19/07/2017 21:26

No, OP asked would it bother you if your partner was 15cm taller than you. You turned that into to judging other people based on their heights, which wasn't actually relevant.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 19/07/2017 21:29

He's quite a bit taller than you!

My DP is 6ft and I am 5ft5. Not dissimilar height difference and I quite like it. Fit perfectly under his arm when I'm cold.

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 19/07/2017 21:29

If that's the only thing you can't find fault with he must be alright??

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 19/07/2017 21:30

*can find fault with lol

Patriciathestripper1 · 19/07/2017 21:30

I am genuinely starting to believe that some posters just read through threads looking for people to jump on and highlighting snippets to pick at, and making no decent contribution to the thread at all.

namechangeshame12 · 19/07/2017 21:32

Yes, otherwise he's great. I was not saying this a flaw, just found this a bit odd, as all my exes were over 1.80.

Thanks everyone!

AfunaMbatata · 19/07/2017 21:32

If you really liked him it wouldn't bother you, you'd just be in love with him.
