What do we all think of this?

I mean I'm all for piercing a girls ears when they're a baby but any where else is just a no for me.

It isn't real...she was making a point about circumcision iirc

divadee · 12/07/2017 20:39

It was a spoof post. If you look at the hash tags one of them says sarcasm.

splendide · 12/07/2017 20:39

Have you noticed the #sarcasm at he end of that?

putdownyourphone · 12/07/2017 20:39

It says #sarcasm at the end - I think it's a joke.

RancidOldHag · 12/07/2017 20:40

I think it's a wind up...

RelaxMax · 12/07/2017 20:40

It's a joke. She was making a point about how people would react to that vs how people react to male infant circumcision.

She didn't actually pierce her baby's cheek.

MaisyPops · 12/07/2017 20:40

She's proving a point and rightly so in my opinion.

When kids request their ears pierced then I'll consider it. I'm not one for shoving bits of metal into somebody who can't consent just because it might look cute.

SheSaidHeSaid · 12/07/2017 20:41

You do realise she didn't actually pierce her kid, don't you?!

BlahBlahBlahEtc · 12/07/2017 20:41

This particular woman posted that as an "anti baby piercing" thing. She didn't actually get her baby pierced.

I actually despise babies ears being pierced. Just sayin'

sidesplittinglol · 12/07/2017 20:41

I did not see that part admittedly 🙈

OP posts:
BlahBlahBlahEtc · 12/07/2017 20:42

That's it, sorry, an anti circumcision post.

luckylucky24 · 12/07/2017 20:43

Joke or not, this is a very divisive issue on hear.

And no I don't think it is okay to pierce a babies ears - you wouldn't get them a tattoo so why hold them down and shoot needles in their ears so you can make them "pretty".

HotelEuphoria · 12/07/2017 20:44

I am more concerned that you are all for piercing a baby's ears than this screen shot. Is this a joke?

ollieplimsoles · 12/07/2017 20:44

Circumcision for non medical reasons is also disgusting

KinkyAfro · 12/07/2017 20:44

This has been done to death and always ends up in a bunfight

SheSaidHeSaid · 12/07/2017 20:45

This. But in not getting into it as I've seen how these kinds of threads turn out.

LittleLionMansMummy · 12/07/2017 20:49

Not a huge fan of inflicting pain on a someone so young they can't give consent or voice an opinion. I don't even think it looks nice either.

It was to make a point and it made a very good one. I can't for the life of me understand anyone who punches holes in their baby in the name of fashion. It's sick.

YouMakeMeFeelLikeDancing · 12/07/2017 20:57

Piercing a baby's ears is awful and unnecessary. I am NOT all for it. In fact the exact opposite.

QuackDuckQuack · 12/07/2017 21:00

I saw a mother BF a baby while sitting on the 'piercing chair' at Claire's Accessories. I'd guess that the baby was 3-4 months old. She stopped BF and then went on to get the baby's ears pierced. I felt that if you weren't willing to take the risk of BF while it was done and getting properly bitten due to the pain inflicted on the baby then you definitely shouldn't be allowed to get your baby pierced.

Andrewofgg · 12/07/2017 21:00

Parking threads need a diagram and threads about piercing a child's ears require popcorn!

Joffmognum · 12/07/2017 21:11

Why would you pierce a baby's ears??? They won't understand why they're hurting, and they're likely to tug at them or get them infected. Toddlers with earrings can hurt themselves if they get them caught in clothes or fall onto the side of their heads.

And they're not your ears??? OP why

Joffmognum · 12/07/2017 21:15

Also babies feel pain a lot more than adults do. There are physical indicators for pain felt, such as stress hormone level and heart rate increase. It hurts them at infancy a lot more than it would hurt them at, say, aged 15, even if they won't remember it
