I - well dh - have started our Christmas shopping.
In July.

Where is Maryz when you need her??!

But what do you buy? Presents for people? I am always afraid the things I would be early for Christmas would seem ... I dunno... old or dated or something. That's ridiculous I know !

CigarsofthePharoahs · 12/07/2017 18:48

I started in January.
It was just heavily discounted decorations though.

SorrelSoup · 12/07/2017 18:57

Yabu. It's one day.

hoopdeloop · 12/07/2017 18:59

Nope, I have bought wee things for my DS already!

MyfatheristheKing · 12/07/2017 19:00

I started last year on Boxing Day :)

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 12/07/2017 19:02

YABVVVVVU for mentioning the C word in July without the appropriate trigger warnings

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 12/07/2017 19:05

I've done my list

I won't do anything about it 'til December

Shoxfordian · 12/07/2017 19:08

What? It's JULY! Ffs

coddiwomple · 12/07/2017 19:14

It's July, the kids haven't even broken up from school. What's wrong with enjoying the summer and thinking of Christmas.. .at least after Halloween. Unless you are booking a holiday somewhere, it's ridiculously early. My kids are spoilt, but even them don't need that many presents! And how do you know what people will want or what their circumstances will be at the end of the year?

EZA15 · 12/07/2017 19:25

Bought my dd her main Christmas present last month. I'm feeling really smug!

OrangeSeville · 12/07/2017 20:48

I've been saving with Park so money wise I'm sorted. Write my lists in October all done by end of November. (hopefully)

Then sit down with mince pies and Bailey's and watch the madness! 🎅 love it! Grin

I can do both! ☀ 🎅

StealthPolarBear · 12/07/2017 20:51

Dh has bought then both gadgets for their rooms. Apparently they were heavily discounted. These will do as main big pressies so we just need to top up with games and books etc :)

I started a while ago.

I'll buy a bunch of reduced summer toys soon, and pick up a load of reduced Halloween stuff too.

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Halloween fancy dress, make up, a hula hoop, summer outdoor games and pumpkin shaped things Grin

Feilin · 12/07/2017 21:01

Ding dong merrily on high its christmas in july! Not unreasonable im saving with park

KoalaDownUnder · 12/07/2017 21:03

And how do you know what people will want or what their circumstances will be at the end of the year?

This is what I don't get. Confused

Andrewofgg · 12/07/2017 21:03

Bah! Humbug!

StealthPolarBear · 12/07/2017 21:18

What dh has got DS is a music player. At the moment he has an old system, this will be much better.
Don't quite understand what he's got dd but it's along the same lines, a huge improvement on something she has

StealthPolarBear · 12/07/2017 21:20

dudsville · 12/07/2017 21:21

Hm. I always feel smug for getting all my prep done in November.

EZA15 · 12/07/2017 21:32

Got my DD who will be 4 a dolls house, it was on sale, then all the stuff that goes inside will be wrapped seperately as well for her to open. I'll be buying more specific things closer to the time.

dollydaydream114 · 12/07/2017 22:13

I don't understand why some people get so worked up about when someone else does their Christmas shopping. Who cares? Do it whenever you like - if July works for you it's no skin off my nose.

When I was younger used to start mine in August purely because I had to spread the cost. It was either that or not buy anyone anything!

poweredbybread · 12/07/2017 22:42

Oh my good god noooooooooooo please no C word in July
