To ask Welsh mumsnetters how to pronounce Geraint

We've been watching the opening stages of the Tour de France and have been thrilled by Geraint Thomas's exploits. However minor marital disharmony has broken out on how to pronounce Mr Thomas's name.

I pronounce it Gerrint to rhyme with Pint.

My wife is adamant it is pronounced Gerroint to rhyme with point.

Which of us (if either) is right?

Another Welsh speaker here! My brother is Geraint (or Gez to most people). Definitely pronounced 'Gerr-r-int' ('int' from 'pint' with a rolling 'r').

He has had some odd pronounciations in the past: 'Grant' often, and my MIL used to call him 'Go right'!
