Notmyrealname85 · 29/06/2017 22:05

Am I being massively suspicious and a fun sponge to think maybe they still do bad messages on purpose, so people don't notice the clever ones Confused

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 29/06/2017 22:06

Why did you leave the poor shrub languish in custody under threat of expiration?

Have you no heart?

YABU and evil.

Supersoaryflappypigeon · 29/06/2017 22:07

My husband likes to email them back as a wind up Grin

MrsMozart · 29/06/2017 22:08

Shoe shopping time!

MeanAger · 29/06/2017 22:08

I wonder what they have mistranslated as cherub? Grin

I read somewhere that they do it to save time, if they're really obvious from the start then they automatically weed out anyone with an ounce of sense. Rather than spending hours/days/weeks emailing with someone who then smells a rat.

Poor abandoned long-lost cherub.

Turquoiserosepeony · 29/06/2017 22:11

Cherub= cheque perhaps?

MeanAger · 29/06/2017 22:13

Ah yes! Cheque makes sense.

lborgia · 29/06/2017 22:26

I LOVE "fun sponge" will make a note....

I definitely think you need a cherub, no home is complete without one (MN, feel free to use that quote on MN Swears By).

SirGawain · 29/06/2017 22:27

ImperialBlether. My cynicism or their's?

Interesting theory!

And worrying that there's so many people who fall for it despite the obviousness.

I wonder how this is similar to abusive relationships ... on one hand, I read that rapists like to test their intended victim's boundaries to see if she'll fight back, but then there's the fact that men who are abusive within a relationship hide their intentions very well at the beginning.

I suppose with targeting specific people, they can tell who is vulnerable without very obvious boundary-testing.

RebootYourEngine · 29/06/2017 22:32

YABVU to think this is a scam.

I think cherub is going to be my new nickname for my ds. Its very underused.

ArgyMargy · 29/06/2017 22:37

Well I'm not sure - some of the posts I see on here have a similar approach to the English language. Maybe the sender is dyslexic or has a particularly aggressive autocorrect function. YABU for being such a SPAG snob.

Dibbles1967 · 29/06/2017 22:39

You can keep the money, but I want the cherub. I NEED it!!!

So no 'large yacht' then? I always go for that one.

Pumpkintopf · 29/06/2017 22:44

I think you should cancel the cherub...

Persemillion · 29/06/2017 22:45

Won't somebody think of the long-lost cherub?

SukiPutTheEarlGreyOn · 29/06/2017 22:49

I can't get rid of the image of all those poor bored cherubs rolling around on squillions of $ just waiting for SirGawain to send the very reasonable delivery fee.

NorksAreMessy · 29/06/2017 22:49

Seems legit
