One has just opened in town and it just doesn't give the same satisfaction as skimming through the catalogue or website .....

I mean - so many of their items you "just have to have" because they're nicely photographed and come with a little legend and quotes that Mrs B of Norton - Cum - Chewing or wherever just can't live without it .... but in reality it's a gubbings on a shelf in the shop !

Wilkinsons is great for cheap cleaning stuff etc and watching harrassed women shouting at their children

imo Lakeland have the best customer service bar none - ours, near Wilmslow is full of Ladies Who Lunch, very respectable and the cafe is truly delightful!

I do like the catalogues though

Itlooks like somewhere I can buy lots of stuff and NOT use, like a lot of the stuff in my kitchen. Knees is like an alladins cave of kitchenware and other stuff also.
Have you been into knees yeahinaminute?

I see your point, Yeahinaminute.
You can spend hours browsing the catalogue but the actual going in isn't really that exciting.
With me it's partly because I wouldn't ever really pay some of their prices (especially for the edible things) and going in forces me to face that fact.

Yes I live in Trowbridge. I can never believe what i find in there either!

It's all wrong nothing is half as exciting as you think it's going to be !

Every time I've been in there powder I feel as though there is still an "old Mr Knee" sat in a wood lined office over seeing the family business - a la Grace Bros

Lucycat, the Lakeland in Handforth is full of old ladies and tupperwear - the dses hate it in there and dd just about tolerates it. They do nice lunches though .

Isnt Mr Knee still alive? All the staff in there are probably related to him in some way, they are of a certain age.

The best one EVER is in Perth.

I love it, I do!

What about grandpa Knee, uncle knee, and all their wives.

I've never seen the catalogue... had never heard of them until they opened near us.

But its soooo peaceful in there.

She tried to give me a catalogue with my shopping but I explained that it wouldn't be safe

My mum just told me that Mrs Knee IS still alive, and she knows her son Henry!
