Paid for privately by me, of course, although I'd have to save up.

Dh is supportive.

Need more info, what's your BMI, how old are you OP?

bigchris · 21/06/2017 20:09

Well if dh is supportive what are your concerns?

PoppyTree · 21/06/2017 20:10

What's your BMI hun?

It's not unreasonable if you have tried every other route. (All diets etc.)

PoppyTree · 21/06/2017 20:10

And your age, height too. Smile

JeReviens · 21/06/2017 20:11

Hun?

Shock
PeaFaceMcgee · 21/06/2017 20:14

Hun?!! Are you lost Poppy? Wink

Hypnoband is just as effective as surgery. I would do this first - find a very experienced clinical hypnotherapist who specialises.

Sushi123 · 21/06/2017 20:14

Have you researched this - it is not always an easy road

PoppyTree · 21/06/2017 20:17

Sorry for saying hun.

Smacks hand. Grin

Just a habit

Soz.

A gastric bypass is far more effective. Have you spoken to your GP?

BuzzKillington · 21/06/2017 20:22

Jeremy Vine was talking about the gastric balloon on R2.

Sounded better to me.

mzdaph · 21/06/2017 20:25

I think I'd need something permanent.

I am 15 stone. 5 foot 2.

Don't do a band! Gastric sleeve us much better option. Know of way too many horror stories re bands!
The sleeve is Similar cost. Similar op length and recovery. Excellent long term benefits.
But overall i highly recommend weightless surgery, made such a massive difference to my life.

Gemini69 · 21/06/2017 20:28

the Balloon does not work.. and can only remain in your stomach for 6 months... so it's a temporary fix to a lifetime problem... Yes get the Band .. it works and will help you maintain a healthier lifestyle x

mzdaph · 21/06/2017 20:34

So is the sleeve better do you think ... it seems such drastic surgery, what's up with the band?

Hubblebubble64 · 21/06/2017 20:40

Gastric band fitted 12 years ago, lost 10 stone, maintained weight ever since. Best thing I ever did.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 21/06/2017 20:42

I don't think you are mordidly obese OP

Why not try and spend the money on a dietician and a personal trainer first ? If you have tried that sorry

Abdominal surgery is hard Core recovery

eynesbury · 21/06/2017 20:52

I was also going to say similiar

Why can't you diet/exercise?

HildaOg · 21/06/2017 20:57

If that's the push you need then go for it. Change is hard, everything that helps is a good thing. While you're saving, join a gym and change your diet by cutting out crap and reducing portion size.

By the time you have the money saved you may not need the op and prefer to use it on a makeoverWink

wizzywig · 21/06/2017 20:59

Hypnoband/ weightloss hypnotism never worked for me and i tried 3 different therapists (one of them a well known tv bod)

Gemini69 · 21/06/2017 20:59

I had Banding surgery 12 years ago.... lost 11 stones.. and it was the best decision I ever made...

I love my Band x

mzdaph · 21/06/2017 21:04

I just keep breaking diets Blush

Gemini69 · 21/06/2017 21:28

please don't spend the rest of your life worrying about your weight.. there are surgical tools available to help you.. so if you have the means and the will to do something positive about it.... do it x

Gemini69 · 21/06/2017 21:34

www.wlsinfo.org.uk

this website is the holy grail of weight loss surgery information.. good luck in whichever decision or path you chose x

A family member, having struggled with her weight her whole life, had a band. She eventually stretched it and put the weight back on.

4 years ago she had the sleeve. This year she has a had a revision op as she has managed to do the impossible and has made her stomach larger again! By sucking on Lindt chocolates and lard covered roast potatoes all day. The weight started creeping back on.

These procedures did not help solve the real issues she has with food. And the sleeve has caused her countless other issues as well. It's not a decision to make lightly.

Can I make a suggestion before you decide on anything. Are you on Facebook? Look up and follow Richie Howey. I can't recommend RH Fitness enough, I am losing weight steadily with ease for the first time in my life. He is bloody hilarious too. Good luck to you!!

mzdaph · 21/06/2017 22:00

I DON'T think that's for me!!
