DP is terminally ill and had a hospice appointment today (so was stressed already) I decided to go into the vodafone store in town to upgrade my phone!
We put an hour ticket on the phone, queued for ten minutes and sat down. I explained to the girl that we didnt have long and she said it would take 20 minutes to upgrade my phone!
Two and a half hours later i had had enough and walked out. I had to walk back to the car once and then DP did the second time. The young girl took ages to download the contract and then couldnt transfer the contracts from my old phone to my new one!
She thought she had and they hadnt transferred, at that point i went to the managaress and told her i wanted to cancel my upgrade.
The young girl assured me my contacts would go back on my phone. By this point I had barely any battery left so couldnt check till i got to the car.
About 1/3 of my contacts have been saved to one name on my phone and i dont know who's number is whos!
Ive been told we have to make a 50 mile round trip to the store again tomorrow to sort it out! I dont drive so DP has to take me again! Hmm
AIBU to be really pissed off with vodafone at the moment!!!!!

Yanbu Vodafone are absolutely shit at customer service even if you were in the best most unstressed mood to begin with

Flowers for you and DP

ScaryMonstersAndSuperCreeps · 20/06/2017 17:26

Yeah, their customer service is shocking. One of the guys on the helpline told me he'd never take a vodafone contract even though he'd get a 40% staff discount.
I found the people in store really pleasant but couldn't do much and basically it all had to be done over the phone or online. Online were abysmal.

ClopySow · 20/06/2017 17:33

And i'd be inclined to phone customer services and demand they fix their fuck up so your husband doesn't have to drive you again.

ScaryMonstersAndSuperCreeps · 20/06/2017 17:35

They misread my tweet and are now ignoring me on Twitter!!! Angry
DP is blaming himself as he persuaded me to stay in the shop when I wanted to go because of the queue at the beginning!!

ScaryMonstersAndSuperCreeps · 20/06/2017 18:06

Have just tweeted them again. Ignoring DM's as well. Really pissed off now!!!

Vodafone are the worst of a bad bunch when it comes to customer service.
And that's official:
www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/latest/media/media-releases/2016/vodafone-fined-4.6-million

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 20/06/2017 18:17

Vodafone are fucking shocking. I took to tweeting them every five minutes. but they're shit and couldn't solve the problem anyway. Waste of my time.
Then had hilarious phone call with 'customer service' where I wanted written confirmation of something that had been promised verbally. He said no. Asked for supervisor - he was a supervisor apparently. Just kept me on the phone for about half an hour. Then hung up! I rang back straight away to make a complaint about him. Got through to someone who asked what I'd wanted. When I told him he just said that's fine I can send a text with confirmation now. So after all that he really could have just done it. But he'd rather have a pointless conversation with me for half an hour
Anyway. Vodafone are shit. So sorry you're going through a lot of stress with them on top Flowers

Dieu · 20/06/2017 18:22

They are AWFUL.

harderandharder2breathe · 20/06/2017 18:27

I had many repeated conversations where they told me they'd done something that I later learned their systems couldn't do (something ridiculous that they should be able to do easily)

I'm still with them cause their coverage is the best where I live though Angry

GladAllOver · 20/06/2017 18:40

Asked for supervisor - he was a supervisor apparently.
They are all 'supervisors'. They are trained to say that to get rid of you.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 20/06/2017 18:43

I didn't know people still upgraded in store.

I always just phone up. Wouldn't bother with them or the in store upgrade next time OP.

garmsfresh · 20/06/2017 18:55

Vodaphone are the devil ! The amount of runnings I have had with them in store .. the latest being them selling me then wrong charger for my temporary phone , me going back stating they sold me the wrong one and the little twonk saying no refunds a it's being opened ( because I was told it was the right one !) 1 hour and 2 managers later I got my money back . Blady awful company can't wait for my contract to be up .

Mrskeats · 20/06/2017 18:58

I've had some dreadful experiences with them they are a shocking company

ScaryMonstersAndSuperCreeps · 20/06/2017 19:02

After tweeting them and saying thanks for making a terminally ill person drive 50 miles to sort out your mistakes they have replied!!!

OP posts:
ScaryMonstersAndSuperCreeps · 20/06/2017 21:18

Knew it was too good to be true! still waiting for a DM response two hours after i messaged them.

OP posts:
GladAllOver · 20/06/2017 22:07

Now you know why they were fined £4.6million.

ScaryMonstersAndSuperCreeps · 21/06/2017 18:16

Just to update. I had a phone call today from Vodafone! I made it very clear how upset and cross I was regarding yesterday. They are knocking £20 off next months bill!
DP took me back to town today and I'm afraid I bottled going back to the V shop. We went into CPW and the staff were amazing!!!
The Geek Squad guy reinstated all my lost contacts and even though it took some time (nothing like yesterday!) and the staff gave us £10 towards our car park costs!!
I am now the very happy owner of a Huaewi P10 Lite!! Grin

If you are at the end of your contract, end it!

I'd avoid Vodafone like the plaque, god awful customer service, google ombudsman and Vodafone, it's a harrowing read.

I personally had 10 month nightmare, in the end got the ombudsman involved, £150 compensation, plus refund if the £850 they took from us plus credit scoring rectified and an apology.

It was harrowing and there customer service is non existent.

Ombudsman actually have there own helpline for Vodafone customers Shock

Thewinedidit · 21/06/2017 19:08

Vodafone are the worst.

The lies they tell you to get you off the phone. Hours spent trying to resolve a simple issue that any other company could rectify in minutes.

The worst.

Nectarines · 21/06/2017 19:29

I had a terrible experience with Vodafone when I called them to query a bill. The first guy I spoke to just didn't have a clue despite us talking in circles for ages.

He put me through to another guy and, while I was explaining the problem, I could hear somebody in the background mocking my northern accent and repeating my words in daft voices. I was livid. But then, when I pulled them up on it, they hung up on me!!!

Called complaints number the next morning and they listened to the call then paid me £10 goodwill gesture.

Chwaraeteg · 21/06/2017 19:31

Vodafone are shit. I had a rolling contract with them once but they wrongly had me listed as being a business customer and kept charging me VAT on my bill every month. I couldn't get this resolved as neither the business or personal department would talk to me, they just kept passing me back and forth. After I cancelled my rolling contract, as I was entitled to do without charge, they tried to fine me £450 for cancelling my contract early! They passed on my details to a debt collection company. Luckily, the debt collectors folded as soon as I attempted to challenge them.

catlover97 · 21/06/2017 19:41

scary glad things are looking better for you. Please pm me if you're still experiencing problems. I may be able to help.

Spangles1963 · 21/06/2017 22:59

IME ALL phone network providers give crap service. I've been with EE (previously T-Mobile) for years and have had numerous problems. But I just know that if I change,it will probably be more trouble than it's worth and just keep having the same old issues unresolved.
