...we mustn't let democracy be de-railed by terrorists! What a victory a postponement would be to IS and their friend who despise our freedom and democracy.

Yes, it should go ahead as planned.

Calyrical · 04/06/2017 08:25

Has someone proposed a postponement?

Hairyfairy01 · 04/06/2017 08:25

Have I missed something? Who said it wasn't?

rollonthesummer · 04/06/2017 08:25

Who is suggesting it shouldn't?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 04/06/2017 08:26

Of course it should go ahead as planned , these little fuckers can't be allowed to have an influence.

glenthebattleostrich · 04/06/2017 08:26

There's a petition going around apparently saying it should be postponed indefinitely.

Of course we need to carry on with it.

YogiYoni · 04/06/2017 08:27

Of course it should - and will - go ahead.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 04/06/2017 08:27

Agreed, whilst it is horrid to once again wake to news of another attack suspending the election is exactly the response they want. It should go ahead if for no other reason to spite them in their attempts to control us.

Nikephorus · 04/06/2017 08:28

Totally go ahead.

coconuttella · 04/06/2017 08:30

Have I missed something? Who said it wasn't?

Yes... was reading in news that 'there are calls' for it to be postponed, and a petition.... Anna Friel being one protagonist.

OP posts:
histinyhandsarefrozen · 04/06/2017 08:31

That made me furious with Anna Freil!

I don't get why people think it should be postponed.

2boytrouble · 04/06/2017 08:32

The only reason they're saying t shouldn't is because it's almost tied. This is an excuse to allow themselves more time to sway opinion

LittleBooInABox · 04/06/2017 08:33

Because people are scared. They say and do stupid things when scared. It'll go ahead.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 04/06/2017 08:33

I don't think it's that.

user1483972886 · 04/06/2017 08:33

Anna Friel? Are we relying her for guidance? No it should go ahead and anyone suggesting otherwise is nuts.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 04/06/2017 08:34

I mean yes, I think it's fear, but when you're high profile like Anna Freil - to start a campaign like this- 'tis v stupid.

Livelovebehappy · 04/06/2017 08:35

Of course it needs to go ahead. Why shouldn't it? That's what these terrorists want - to derail our lives. They hate democracy so the only winners if the GE was postponed would be the terrorists.

TheweewitchRoz · 04/06/2017 08:38

Definitely needs to go ahead.

Livelovebehappy · 04/06/2017 08:39

People who are suggesting postponement are saying that they feel the government has let us down on preventing terrorist attacks, so postponement allows people the choice to change their decision; I presume to switch their vote to the terrorist appeaser Corbyn. Like that's going to happen.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 04/06/2017 08:43

Oh that's ridiculous, so it's postponement for postal voters who might have second thoughts? How many of them are there? Three?

There will never be a 'good' time for an election- don't they get that?

QueenLaBeefah · 04/06/2017 08:44

It needs to go ahead.

Upsy1981 · 04/06/2017 08:46

Definitely should go ahead. Can't let this get in the way of democracy. I do think the threat level should be raised again and plenty of armed police and forces visible on election day so people feel safe to go and vote.

Apparently election was postponed in 2001 due to foot and mouth but I don't remember that.

Paffle · 04/06/2017 08:48

I've already voted so how does that work? I have to do it again until someone's satisfied I've got it right?

53rdWay · 04/06/2017 08:51

Absolutely needs to go ahead. Until we elect our MPs we don't have a Parliament. Can't oversee the government, can't pass or amend any laws, can't do any of the committee work where a huge amount of work happens. Postponing indefinitely is a terrible idea.

MollyHuaCha · 04/06/2017 08:53

Of course the election should go ahead. And people should use their votes wisely for the good of the country and to further the likelihood of world peace, social harmony and environmental protection, not for personal monetary gain.
