h cutting ds3's hair even though I have asked him not to at least twice.

I came home from work today to find ds3's hair cut close to his head, uneven and a bit patchy. He looks daft.

I got really angry because 1. He looks daft and 2. I had already asked h not to cut our dcs hair. He is not in any way trained. He's a solicitor.

It's like two fingers up at me. The other boys and dd refused to let him do theirs.

Yep. He does has form for disregarding my requests. He's cut it before. I have asked him not to.

No. It's not a veto. He made a mess of it last time. We agreed he wouldn't cut it again.

The lack of training is irrelevant - I've never had a lesson in hairdressing but cut mine and DM hair all the time.
It's his son too and maybe he thinks he's good. I doubt he's intentionally wanting to butcher him!

I don't think he was cutting it to make him look daft. I'm assuming the other children go to a hairdressers to get a haircut so why can't your son go with them? It's a bit weird that your husband is happy to cut his hair if the others don't let him.

Get some clippers and let your DH learn to do it properly, you'll get away with it (and get better at it) until they are about 10 and it will save a fortune.

Meh. It's hair, it grows. DH once cut DD's fringe so she looked like some sort of mediaeval page boy. Didn't last forever.

It's a bit arrogant ...why does he want to cut it? If it's just because you don't want him to its mean. If it's because you are on an economy drive and you had suggested taking him so where that costs twenty five pounds, maybe it's fair enough
