To be pissed off about

h cutting ds3's hair even though I have asked him not to at least twice.

I came home from work today to find ds3's hair cut close to his head, uneven and a bit patchy. He looks daft.

I got really angry because 1. He looks daft and 2. I had already asked h not to cut our dcs hair. He is not in any way trained. He's a solicitor.

It's like two fingers up at me. The other boys and dd refused to let him do theirs.

Aibu?

Dunno. We agreed last time it looked daft. And that he wasn't the man to cut the hair.

Ds2 told me just now h offered him a 'phone if he'd let h cut his hair.

Utterly bizarre. A hair cut for the boys cost £7.

Do you think he's secretly yearning for anew career away from the law? Wink

But why does he want to do it? What does he get out of it?

I don't want him to cut it because it always looks crap.

I wouldn't mind if he could do a good job.

It's a bit arrogant ...why does he want to cut it? If it's just because you don't want him to its mean. If it's because you are on an economy drive and you had suggested taking him so where that costs twenty five pounds, maybe it's fair enough

Meh. It's hair, it grows. DH once cut DD's fringe so she looked like some sort of mediaeval page boy. Didn't last forever.

Get some clippers and let your DH learn to do it properly, you'll get away with it (and get better at it) until they are about 10 and it will save a fortune.

I don't think he was cutting it to make him look daft. I'm assuming the other children go to a hairdressers to get a haircut so why can't your son go with them? It's a bit weird that your husband is happy to cut his hair if the others don't let him.

Grin at 'He's a solicitor'

Suggest DS cuts DH's hair to even up the score?

"Is it okay to have someone with zero training cut hair?"

Yes. Do you know what hair's really good at? Growing!

I want to ask your husband if his wife is controlling in other ways as there are real red flags here.

The lack of training is irrelevant - I've never had a lesson in hairdressing but cut mine and DM hair all the time.
It's his son too and maybe he thinks he's good. I doubt he's intentionally wanting to butcher him!

No. It's not a veto. He made a mess of it last time. We agreed he wouldn't cut it again.

Are you saying that you have the veto and he has disobeyed you?

Well, the pets thing is really bad. That would make me very angry.

He gets pets without talking to me first.

It will grow back. While slightly annoying he is the parent too. It will be funny story when he grows up...' remember that time dad have me the worse haircut ever'. Unles your DH has form for always disregarding your requests this is a non issue.
