Neighbours have dog, they leave it in the garden most of the time. It barks at people walking past, it barks at planes flying overhead, it barks at nothing, on and on and on. I wish it would die. AIBU?

YANBU. Dog barks go right through me. We have a dickehad spaniel who loves to bark at leaves, wind, noise of any kind, visitors, cats, birds (especially the fat pigeons) and her own echo. But my god, the minute I stand at the back door and yell "Satan, pipe down" she knows I've reached Def Con 4 and shuts up.

Owners who leave their dogs out barking constantly should be shot in the kneecaps. It's the most awful sound.

AnneOfCleavage · 25/05/2017 18:32

Well yabu to want it to die but I do understand how infuriating it is. You could call environmental health and get them issued with a warning. The reason it's outside is probably because it barks constantly inside too so they aren't nice owners if they don't train it up properly.

Purplepicnic · 25/05/2017 18:34

Love your thread title 😁

RoboticSealpup · 25/05/2017 18:34

I hate dogs. YANBU.

IrenetheQuaint · 25/05/2017 18:34

I once had neighbours who had a Jack Russell. YANBU.

Yoksha · 25/05/2017 18:38

We've got a barking dog across the street. I swing from blind rage to feeling sorry for it. I don't want to be responsible for adding more pressure to the mum, because she seems to be at the end of her tether. Her child appears to have special needs and when child and dog are together it's truly humbling to observe.

Floralnomad · 25/05/2017 18:39

It is a bit nasty to wish it dead just because it has crap owners , it's not the dogs fault . It's also irrelevant what breed it is , my neighbours have a spaniel x and he barks non stop when on his own - which is a lot of the time , thankfully we are detached so I only hear it when I'm outside .

Marmalade85 · 25/05/2017 18:43

My landlord lives upstairs with THREE dogs which I didn't see when I moved in and now next door have also got a dog that is barking constantly, so much so that even my landlord with her three dogs is annoyed by it. What can you do about it?

Didyoumeantobesorude1 · 25/05/2017 18:47

Thank you for the supportive comments and I know it's the owners' fault and not really the dog's. Selfish fucking fuckers. I hate them. Seems crazy to report to the police when they are busy with serious crimes. Just cannot understand the utter selfishness of these people.

OP posts:
AnneOfCleavage · 25/05/2017 18:54

Don't report to police, they won't do anything. It's the environmental health with your local council but you could ask neighbours if it bothers them and if so report together. More likely to get a result.
I do feel for you though Sad

Blossomdeary · 25/05/2017 18:57

Ah....poison, do you have a gun, hose, pepper spray.....Grin

Seriously there are things called dog dazers which do work. YANBU - dogs can be a total p in the a. If I had a barking dog next door I would be beside myself with rage, which from your thread title, I assume you are.

If people want to keep dogs that is fine - but they are THEIR dogs and they should make sure they do not impinge in anyone else in any way at all: barking, jumping up, slobbering, sitting on your lap (oh - he really likes you!), shitting on your grass or on the street, licking (yuk!)............

Blossomdeary · 25/05/2017 18:58

Sniffing your fanny....

Blossomdeary · 25/05/2017 18:58

I could go on, but I am sure you get the picture!

Didyoumeantobesorude1 · 25/05/2017 19:00

Oh Blossomdeary thank you, you've made me laugh!
This dog never gets near my fanny.

PlymouthMaid1 · 25/05/2017 19:00

Yes its awful. Our neighbour recently got a puppy which she leaves for hours and hours. Poor thing barks and howl all day. Driving us mad and what is worse, she lives in a flat so the family downstairs must be truly frazzled.

MyProperTea · 25/05/2017 19:01

We had one of those things that makes a sound people can't here when the dog barks. Little fucker was eating through the batteries! But it did work.

Fiona1984 · 25/05/2017 19:16

I feel for you, JRTs are very yappy dogs. They have that high pitched yap that really grates on me. My dog has a deeper bark, less annoying but I still hate it when he barks in the garden. I'll wait with him in the morning while he does his business. I'd hate for him to be barking his head off at 6.20am

TheFaerieQueene · 25/05/2017 19:19

Don't let any JRT near your fanny. One little bugger bit a friend on his bollocks and ripped it. He spent his birthday in A & E.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 25/05/2017 19:27

My housemate has a JRT annoying cunty thing that it is, a fly farts 5 miles away and off he goes with that fucking yapping Angry

nina2b · 25/05/2017 19:39

You wish it would die? Great

Didyoumeantobesorude1 · 25/05/2017 19:39

Why do people buy these JRTs? What redeeming features do the little shits have that compensate for the incessant barking and, according to a previous poster, biting people's balls?? Well, men's balls I suppose I should say.

OP posts:
Didyoumeantobesorude1 · 25/05/2017 19:41

Yes I do Nina. What's your alternative solution? Do tell.

OP posts:
guinnessgirl · 25/05/2017 19:50

Have you seen Keeping Mum, OP? Do you have a pond? Grin

Didyoumeantobesorude1 · 25/05/2017 19:52

No but I think I see where you're going Guinness...

OP posts:
IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 25/05/2017 19:55

I have a JRT and it would bark incessantly if I let it. But I'm a responsible owner, work from home so she's never left for more than a couple of hours. I hate the sound of her barking so as soon as she barks once in the garden, she's back inside the house.

I do sympathise became the noise is horrible but it isn't the dog, it's the lazy and cruel owner.
