..... Jeremy Corbyn seems to be really nailing this election and am now seriously thinking about voting Labour
Yeah yeah... the polls still have him way behind but....but...

Mumzypopz · 22/05/2017 20:29

Not another political thread. I really don't care...Smile

Beyondworried · 22/05/2017 20:33

Oh dear...is there a cap on political threads'?

OP posts:
GottaCatchEmAll137 · 22/05/2017 20:38

Mumzypopz. Well you bloody should care. The tide is turning. Policy speaks for itself and it's obvious whose policy actually gives a shit about equality and society. With any luck we will still have an NHS in 10 years and it won't be any any thanks to people who didn't care enough to engage with politics. I hope you will at least use your vote. The deadline for registering is tonight btw

Beyondworried · 22/05/2017 20:40

My thought exactly Mum
What is the point on posting on a thread that you don't care about.... that you don't care. Hmm

OP posts:
justanotheryoungmother · 22/05/2017 20:42

YADNBU Smile

SmileEachDay · 22/05/2017 20:44

It's never, in my lifetime, been more important to care.

With the exception of Dianne Abbot, who I don't think comes across as being particularly genuine, Labour seem to be stable and steady. Their policies seem better costed, their manifesto is compelling and they aren't cunts.

Mumzypopz · 22/05/2017 20:54

Gottacatch....the world is full of people who get excited about politics and those who don't. I hate election time. Nobody is the expert they make themselves out to be and I hate it when people are so get up by it there is literally steam coming out of their ears. I hate it when people try to persuade me to vote one way or the other. They are all as bad as each other and no party will be perfect. Perhaps I take a more helicopter view rather than getting embroiled in the nitty gritty.

Mumzypopz · 22/05/2017 20:56

And I don't think anyone is nailing it, no. Oh and by the way, I've been registered to vote for at least the last twenty years thanks, so you don't need to tell me about the deadline.

Beyondworried · 22/05/2017 21:03

Given that you don't care "Mum* how on earth would you now if someone was nailing it or not.

OP posts:
Beyondworried · 22/05/2017 21:05

Now off you pop from this thread. Go and 'not care' somewhere else Smile

OP posts:
GottaCatchEmAll137 · 22/05/2017 21:12

Mumzypopz Well, I just hope that next time you make use of a public service or are protected by a law you spare a thought for those people who were passionate about fighting for it. I think it's incredibly selfish to not care, and take no responsibility, for the society we live in whilst enjoying the freedom and advantages of it. It's the very fact people don't care that politics is in such a mess! Only you can change this. If you want better political parties worth voting for, get involved. Or at least fuck off entirely and stop posting on threads you apparently don't care about.

SunEgg · 22/05/2017 21:13

YANBU. I am also voting labour.

BlueDaBaDee · 22/05/2017 21:17

In my head, it doesn't even seem possible that he'll win. But I'm 24, and tried my best to write a rousing status on Facebook to encourage my peers to register today. This is so, so important. The first election in my lifetime that I feel my vote could make a significant difference to mine, and my child's life. Us young people are massively behind Jeremy, he's the first politician we've ever known of his kind. But we just need to stop feeling disenfranchised. Then maybe, just maybe, he'll have a chance.

SmileEachDay · 22/05/2017 21:20

The rhetoric is powerful - we need to stop articulating "he won't win" and start talking about "the next labour PM"

Beyondworried · 22/05/2017 21:24

Well done Blue Lets hope others are inspired by you. The thought of another 5 years of the nasty party horrifies me.

Mumzypops if you're not interested
In politics, why come on a thread about politics?! MN is full of threads I'm not interested in, but I just ignore them!

I'm delighted to see the tide is turning and Corbyns popularity seems to be growing by the day. I don't think it'll be enough to do it... but wouldn't it be amazing if he did?!

Huldra · 22/05/2017 21:34

Beyond

There was a cap on political threads but earier today MN did a U Turn.

SmileEachDay · 22/05/2017 21:34

"I'm not voting because they are all the same"

AIBU to think that...
MrsELM21 · 22/05/2017 21:37

I think the tide really is turning, I was never in a million years voting labour, but now, well I am! --

The Tory manifesto is a disgrace, TM is set on her path and absolutely nobody else is being taken into consideration.

Diane Abbott is a fucking idiot though

OhHolyJesus · 22/05/2017 21:43

I also feel like the tide could be turning or is this perhaps wishful thinking? Scared to hope but Labour have come out of the shadows with their manifesto - I still find mainstream media biased towards Tories though and I wonder what impact that will have in the result.

I'm voting tactically for the first time on a true blue constituency. Hate to do it as it goes against the grain for me but feel it necessary this time.

Anyone else voting tactically? I need to read more about this vote swap thing I heard about on MN...anyone doing that?

CatThiefKeith · 22/05/2017 21:59

YANBU.

I know several lifelong tories that are
Voting labour this time.

Mumzypopz · 22/05/2017 22:01

Beyond....off you pop too..how rude. Politics is unfortunately all over the news at the moment, so yes, I do know a little bit if what's going on...even if I don't care.

cardibach · 22/05/2017 22:02

Mumzy I expect some people are experts, actually. I don't post anything I don't understand. Also - steam literally coming out of their ears? I doubt that tbh...

Mumzypopz · 22/05/2017 22:03

Gottacatch....I've got as much right to post on here as you. Dont be so rude. Gosh people really get wound up about politics don't they.

Mumzypopz · 22/05/2017 22:04

Violet....er because I wanted to.
