To expect people to say 'I love you' back to DS when he says it, and not go eewwww....

When Ds says that he loves us we always say 'I love you too' He is really loving and loves to know that people love him too. When Ds says it to BIl, BIL say 'Gay!!!!' and Dh's mate says 'ewwwwwwwww' It really annoys me, as DS is only 9 and he knows what gay means but telling his uncle that he love him doesn't make him gay, and I am getting more and more annoyed with it, everytime it happens. It will get to the stage when DS will stop saying it, and I will be and when that happens especially if its down to his uncle and Dh's mate.

Can your dh speak to him and ask him to stop behaving like a child? I wouldn't accept behaviour like that from my 3 year old never mind a 30 year old.

I have asked DH to tell him to stop it, but BIL is so childish and a pratt that nothing goes into his head and stays there.

There will be a time when DS will become a teenager and then he can just grunt at BIL and turn around and still say "I love you " to those that tell him likewise.

Tonight one of the teenagers from down the road came down to see us, and Ds gave her a kiss and a cuddle before bed, and she said how sweet he is, and its lovely to get a cuddle from him.

D'ya think you could be childish back and say "Is there something you want to own up to BIL? Thou doth protest too much and all that"

BIL needs to grow up your DS sounds lovely who can some people be so cruel to loving children - drives me mad. One day your DS may just shock everyone by telling BIL that he doesn't love him because he's no gay like him!

lol today in the car dd2 said she wanted to marry dd3. i had to say that sisters cant get married, but when she is older she can marry another boy or girl. she has decided she will marry daniel from green group at school.

I know a wedding makes no difference, in the 12 years me and DH have been together BIL has had one GF who he met about 3 years ago and married 2 years ago, so me and DH did wonder for 9 years
