You know what pisses me off about that 6 mo 'restriction' on Admin officials becoming lobbyists? I'll tell you what....the rank and file of Federal Employees are restricted from accepting employment 'in a related job' for 5 fricking years! When I retired I was offered any number of jobs in legal firms in an advisory capacity based on my prior job knowledge. Nothing 'covert' or having to do with 'secrets' or circumventing the law. But noooo! Guess I should have just had them hire me as a 'lobbyist'.

Actually, I didn't want to work anyway.

More than moving, it's very rich between the lines. I'm sure his colleagues will have got the full message.

I agree Lweji. It reminded me of the speech in last years Star Wars spin off (Rogue One?) where the young female leader rallies the ragtag alliance by saying you fight on, battle by battle, and keep going til there's no-one left standing. Comey's subtext is all about mounting a principled, ethical resistance.

A very well written letter indeed. It is a rare skill to be able to say so much in so few words.
