I may get flamed for this or at least given another biscuit: each to their own! Buy somewhere else, then Etc
I have been buying from them for several years and loved their designs.
I popped in yesterday although I need new clothes like a whole in the head and was appalled by the complete lack of anything in the shop I liked.
Has boho come back in and can that explain the number of tassels and fussy necklines?
Manager said that they were trying to attract more fashionable younger people, I retorted that I thought I did look fashionable or at least good in my older White. stuff clothing.

Apparently White Stuff has a new buyer which explains some of the new stuff.
WS has been my go to shop for ages, so where will an early fifties lady go to instead? Please don't say M and S they have been crap for years

W Stuff has always been Frump Central

woodhill · 26/04/2017 20:34

Heman so do I, I like scoop necks which flatter my bust and narrow shoulders.

Emphasise · 26/04/2017 20:41

I think calling White Stuff "fashions" has always been a bit of a stretch but I like their bags

HemanOrSheRa · 26/04/2017 20:48

I know woodhill Sad. I have just ordered some tops from Mistral that look nice. See if they fit my boobs and belly Smile.

littleshoutymouse · 26/04/2017 21:01

Last year I discovered their swimsuits - they fitted my awkward frame perfectly and I bought a few in glee. It normally takes me ages and a lot of angst to find something I like anywhere.

This year's selection is CRAP! Gutted.

Cousinit · 26/04/2017 21:09

I agree. They have always sold stuff on the frumpy side but until recently I could always find plenty of stuff I liked in there. Now it all looks hideous.

woodhill · 26/04/2017 21:14

Let me know Heman I am tempted. That's the other thing, the tops are not long to start with and seem to shrink up.

londonrach · 26/04/2017 21:14

Agree. Awful stuff this year...now sea salt...that shop is dangerous to my wallet. Used to love fatface bags too but a let down this year.

pandarific · 26/04/2017 21:17

Am I the only person who likes viscose? Indestructible, breathable, doesn't go into a crumpled mess the minute you look at it, hangs nicely... I love viscose!

MrsJamin · 26/04/2017 21:20

I just saw a bunch of their stuff promoted on Facebook, it didn't look very White Stuff at all! E.g. Using black! Shock TBH I've gone off their stuff lately as it doesn't wash and wear well, tops are really thin and cardies fray, and its not cheap enough to do that that quickly! Also their prints have gone horrid.

HemanOrSheRa · 26/04/2017 21:27

I will woodhill Smile. I am tempted to order from Seasalt too while they have the larger sizes in stock and see what it's like.

PollyPerky · 26/04/2017 21:40

I think they do some reasonable white T shirts- not quite plain but almost plain. And the occasional nice top- subtle colours. Some plain knitwear is okay too but never buy at full price; they stick a £49.95 price on everything.

Bit perturbed to see my branch full of ladies in their 70s.

2beesornot2beesthatisthehoney · 26/04/2017 21:45

Woodhill and Sherman I visited Mistral yesterday for the first time. I was passing one by chance and it would have been rude not to stop! I f
Kid you not this was a coincidence and I have not been scouring the south west of England for a branch! There was a White Stuff opposite too! So Mistral sizes on me were one size bigger than in WhiteStuff , so whereas I have a size 8 I WS I am a 10 for tops in Mistral. Same went for bottoms. Hope this helps.

I really like it !!
I love white stuff but recently I have felt it's got repetitive and safe. Same styles churned out in different material year after year.
There was a lot I would like to buy. Bring on the sales.

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 26/04/2017 22:11

I used to buy stuff occasionally from WS but haven't bought anything this year, it's all dreadful. I do like Mistral.leggings and they have better quality tops. But I would hardly call either brand fashionable.

woodhill · 26/04/2017 22:21

I'm beyond fashionable. I want to look understated and have clothes that flatter my figure, keep me cool and are reasonable quality.

tovelitime · 26/04/2017 22:26

Whites stiff has always been beyond dull and frumpy so no change

ParmaViolets17 · 26/04/2017 22:44

I have frontage like a bay window. If I wear round or square necks, I look as if I'm smuggling a sideboard.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy nice wrap tops? I love bravissimo but can't afford to stock up there.

HemanOrSheRa · 26/04/2017 22:44

Ooh that is very good to hear 2bee Smile. I just want some pretty, comfortable tops that look nice with jeans and Toms. That's not too much to ask is it?

myusernameisnotmyusername · 27/04/2017 12:44

I'm 36 and have been buying a few bits from white stuff for a couple of years now. I don't think they're particularly aimed at older people unless I'm dressed old fashioned or something! I did look at the website the other day and the dresses didn't have the same appeal but there was a couple of nice tops
