to prioritise clean bathroom over ironed sheets?

Not got long so will keep as brief as poss. Much loved friends coming to stay tonight at fairly short notice for 2 days. What with domestic emergencies, f/t work and unexpected pressures due to bloody election being called I have 1 hour left before they arrive. I've changed the bed ready but clean sheet seems a bit crumpled. AIBU to prioritise cleaning the bathroom and cooking a nice meal over taking the sodding thing off and ironing it?

Chuck a throw over it if you are worried and crack on with the other stuff!

madcapcat · 20/04/2017 17:33

Or just get them pissed so they don't notice / care?

Clean bathroom every time!

rosesandcashmere · 20/04/2017 17:35

Bathroom more important, use bathroom cleaner and wipe with kitchen roll for a quick shine! Is bedding that bad? Most will shake out, if not plug iron in nearby and push steam out all over it. Will relax it xx

littleblackno · 20/04/2017 17:35

Do people really iron sheets?

NorksAkimbo72 · 20/04/2017 17:35

Omg...ironing sheets??!! No, do not waste time on ironed sheets. If she gives a toss about crumpled sheets, she's no friend!

mirime · 20/04/2017 17:35

I never iron sheets! I'd prioritise the bathroom definitely.

MrsTwix · 20/04/2017 17:35

Sheets need ironing?! Who knew Grin

Seriously life is too short to iron stuff. Clean sheets clean bathroom, job done have a Brew

WorraLiberty · 20/04/2017 17:37

If I ever ironed sheets, my friends would assume I'd taken leave of my senses Grin

CassandraAusten · 20/04/2017 17:38

YANBU. I'm another one who never irons sheets (much to MIL's distress).

MrsT2007 · 20/04/2017 17:38

Who irons sheets?! Pillowcases maybe if they're scrunched up but sheets and duvet covers....nooo

Bathroom definitely

RedBugMug · 20/04/2017 17:38

ironing sheets?
no way!
clean bathroom is clearly more important

madcapcat · 20/04/2017 17:38

Run the iron over top of made bed, but I'm a bit bonkers like that.

Bantanddec · 20/04/2017 17:48

I've never ironed a sheet on my life!! Who gives a shit? You go to bed in the dark.

abbsisspartacus · 20/04/2017 17:49

Don't bother I'm suspicious of straight sheets I think they havnt been cleaned

SquatBetty · 20/04/2017 18:38

Ironing sheets is bonkers - concentrate on the bathroom!

TiredMumToTwo · 20/04/2017 18:40

Yes run iron over made bed.

Ethylred · 20/04/2017 18:41

OP are you the prime minister? Ask that nice man Jeremy Corbyn round to help.

topcat2014 · 20/04/2017 18:43

Do tell more about the unexpected pressures caused by the election - are you an MP?

Otherwise, what pressures does it cause?

Oh, and prioritise everything over ironing sheets - :)

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 20/04/2017 18:45

Have you got a tumble dryer? 20 mins to get them smooth!!

AChickenCalledKorma · 20/04/2017 18:47

I am not the OP but i do work in local government. Plenty of people running round like headless chickens where i work due to the unexpected election. Especially the people who have to make it happen at very short notice (book polling stations, recruit staff, print poll cards ...... these things don't just happen!)

ScarlettFreestone · 20/04/2017 19:21

I iron sheets!! Grin

However as a guest I'd much prefer a clean bathroom and a meal than ironed sheets.

I'd also be upset that my hostess was worrying about sheets when I'd just be terribly grateful that she was kindly putting me up at short notice.

skislope · 20/04/2017 19:25

People iron sheets?!?!?!?
