to ask how do you go about getting ID in england

My ID has been stolen for the SIXTH TIME today. Each time it happens, I have to get more from Ireland.

Is there any way of getting ID over here with just an Irish birth certificate?

Please help!

It depends what you need and what has been stolen. You could look into getting a Citizen Card. You can also get an Irish passport ID card for €35.
If the ID that has been stolen is a passport it gets increasingly difficult to obtain a replacement.

Irish driving license stolen x 2
EU ID stolen x 3

I can't exchange my Irish driving license for a UK one without the EU ID.

I can't fucking do anything without ID.

I can't travel back to Ireland to sort anything as I've no ID

Can you go to / phone an embassy? Or can you get forms off the internet? Or can someone in Ireland post you the forms, then you post them back with photos to be signed if necessary, then they send them to wherever they have to go?

Uk forms for drivers licences are available from post offices. (poss not little rural ones) or maybe online.

I think you are asking the wrong question.

You should be asking 'why is my stuff being stolen so often'.

Anyway, I'm guessing that you need to go to the Irish Embassy to get a new passport.

Do you need to carry this ID with you? I've had one bag stolen, and it was because I'd left the bag on the back of my chair in the pub, so easy pickings. I do carry my driving licence, but do you have to, given how hard it is for you to replace everything?

My passport is safely squirreled away at home. Even burglars wouldn't find it.

You can apply for the passport card online if you have your lost passport number and you haven't reported it lost

Snickers - you're not helpful. I had an over the shoulder handbag hanging to my front today. I felt uncomfortable at one point walking down the street as if someone was too close behind me so I stopped dead and let them past (a family of 5 - 3 kids, 2 adults, dressed in long skirts etc.). I passed no heed until I went to pay for something in a shop. Wallet gone. Thing is, the bag has a flap over it, so somehow they managed to slip into it. I'd say my phone would have gone too only I had my headphones plugged in. My cigarette lighter always vanished from my right pocket.
I've been robbed so many times that today is the first time I've brought ID out with me and that was because I had to bring ID with me to my GP surgery to register for ordering online prescriptions.

I have reported my passport lost. I had to in order to get back to Ireland with no ID via the Irish Embassy 2 years ago.

My, I appreciate that what I said wasn't all that helpful, but you need to make sure it doesn't happen again.

There has to be some kind of ID you can get, not everyone drives or has a passport. There must be something else.

Other that passports and driving licences I think utility bills can be used.

you need to do the most basic things. Boild my piss and no mistake.

Sorry you're being robbed all the time, my, it must really grind you down.
I'd be tempted to carry a bag full of dog shit for the thieving fuckers and keep the ID and valuables in my Victorian style bloomers.

We don't generally have it, not like other countries I've lived in. Lots of people don't have passports, many don't have driving licenses, if you're doing something that needs ID and you don't have those, you use things like bills and birth certificate.

It's one of our quirks - you're not required to carry ID around with you like you are in other places (not even your license when driving), and we're strongly against ID cards. I've actually used a 2nd country's ID card to get into the UK when my passport was stolen on a flight!

I have put a curse on the entire family btw (an Irish curse so I hope it carries extra weight). Dirty rotten bastards. They have no consideration for the impact of their actions on innocent victims.
