Our bigly armada is...somewhere! Watch out, gentleman! Trump cont..

As the armada appears in waters nowhere near where it was said to be, Trump blusters on in his usual dignified, courtly manner. Easter weekend had us worried about nuclear strikes; DT put a fair bit of work into his golf swing. Business as usual! Carry on, everyone!

Feeling a bit edgy with the rhetoric about nuclear strikes on Australia. It's quit something for 100 days in.

Lweji · 23/04/2017 07:36

economic growth enhances environmental protection

That is such a lie that it's laughable.
It's another subject he knows fuck all about, and why would anyone listen to what he says?

He is definitely just trying to ingratiate himself with protesters (won't work; they know better), or keep his faithful, because they will go lalalala at anyone else if their Messiah keeps making his promises and his demagogy (they won't look it up or listen to anyone else).

Roussette · 23/04/2017 07:54

I just can't get my head round how or why Trump supporters would swallow his twitter shit.

This is interesting

BiglyBadgers · 23/04/2017 08:55

I am getting worried that he will get out on mental health grounds leaving all the rest behind to carry on screwing things up. He needs to be impeached on corruption to get the rest of his posse out in one sweep or it will just be a distraction.

Lweji · 23/04/2017 09:18

However he gets out, Pence or even Ryan will take his place. They'll all have to be dealt with one by one.

TheClaws · 23/04/2017 09:25

Saffron, we are well protected. Early warning systems and all that, even given anything could reach here. But you're right. Crazy that things could escalate so quickly.

Is that a thumb up in the tweet about Ryan. Or, um, another digit?

Lweji · 23/04/2017 10:14

Jason Chaffetz and Devin Nunes both faced investigating Trump. Now both are stepping aside.

It's coming. Step by step.

Maybe only Democrat volunteers will remain. :)

Because Ryan knows Congress and that in to keep doing the same thing over and over lies true madness. Wink

He probably advised the Donald not to push it last time and then it all turned on him. Just say Never Again, Paul.

Bit of a tangent, but here's an comparison of the financial position of current 30-somethings in the UK, with previous generations at the same age.

It concludes that for the next generation, inherited wealth will be much more important.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39519844

So if you're not going to inherit much, you're screwed. Forward to the past, and all that...

BiglyBadgers · 23/04/2017 13:31

As people live longer inheritance will be wiped out for a lot of the middle class by the cost of care for elderly parents as the Tories are dismantling social care. I do not expect to inherit anything even though my dad is ok financially as i expect the lot to go on paying for care when he gets older.

Also the fact that people live longer get means that even if there is inheritance it will not arrive until they are probably pretty old themselves. For previous generations where inheritance was a big thing for them the lower age of death ment that you would get your inheritance in time for you to set up a house and family. Not much good if you are 70 before your parents die (sorry, I know that sounds horrid, but you get the point).

GingerIvy · 23/04/2017 14:00

I saw that Chaffetz sent that demand letter to Trump and I was puzzled, as previously he was all for Trump. Something is definitely up.
