As the armada appears in waters nowhere near where it was said to be, Trump blusters on in his usual dignified, courtly manner. Easter weekend had us worried about nuclear strikes; DT put a fair bit of work into his golf swing. Business as usual! Carry on, everyone!

Did I read on here or on twitter that Chaffetz had registered something (websites? I can't remember what) that showed he was considering running for president in the next election? I might have hallucinated this.

cozie, first off it makes me ashamed that I ever bitch about the premium and copays of the excellent coverage I have. DH, too, and his premiums are fully paid by his former employer. Mine pays 75% of the premium.

This is going to be a disaster, especially for someone, like my cousin, with a pre-existing condition. Without the premium subsidy she can't afford insurance now. It will be even more unaffordable if she's put in a 'high-risk' pool. Basically that's just lumping all the people who need more care in one group and saying 'Pay for yourselves'. The true model for healthcare is putting everyone together in a geographical area and saying 'Let's help pay for each other'. Those who don't use care as much (like me) help pay for those who do (like my DH and my cousin). That's what the ACA accomplished. It just makes me sick to think that we'll end up back where we were before it passed, with people dying and becoming terribly disabled because they can't afford to see a doctor, but must rely on ERs when they become so ill they're forced to seek attention.

IMO, it is specifically being crafted to facilitate a collapse so they can say they 'kept' healthcare but, Oh dearie me, it just doesn't work, doncha see.

BTW all, weren't we supposed to be seeing some bigly arrests this week???? I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.
