To say that Paw Patrol has become unbelievable

I could just about get on board with a super rich 10 year old boy living by himself with a troop of talking, dexterous, multi-skilled puppies.
I wrote off the mer-pup episode as a group hallucination caused by too much wood smoke on the beach.

But having not seen any episodes for a while, I have just seen one which,
I'm afraid to say, stretched the bounds of reality. Adventure Bay robbed of gravity by a floating alien craft. The pups involved in ridiculously complex and skilled rescues. They may as well have had Ryder jumping over a shark on water skis. Shock

This is almost as unbelievable as The Archers became during the Sean O'Connor editorial period. The creators are mocking us. 3 year old DD doesn't care, but I just can't suspend my disbelief any more Sad

I don't know, but my friend's 3-year-old singing the Paw Patrol song is just about the cutest thing I've ever heard. 😍

hoopdeloop · 11/04/2017 07:40

I feel the same about Fireman Sam. Both Sam and Paw Patrol have risen in popularity with DS and I find myself having a one sided argument with the tv about various plot holes!

furryleopard · 11/04/2017 07:42

Yes! I was saying to DH that they'd fully jumped shark after I watched that silly merpups episode. I can get on board with the basic premise of the programme but recently it's just gone too far. My DD has moved on to Rusty Rivets now really (the most bland programme there is both DH and I have watched it then have been unable to say what happened it's just so bland).

Ah Rusty Riverts - "combine it and design it" Grin

I find Postman Pat SDS unbelievable; the man can barely manage to deliver one package in a day's work & that is only with the help of half of Greendale. It's difficult to sack someone these days, but i have seen multiple incidents of gross misconduct.

BikeRunSki · 11/04/2017 07:48

I'm pleased to say that PP exists only in lunchbox format in this house now. On the other hand, it has been replaced by Dennis the Menace cartoons.

MrsPussinBoots · 11/04/2017 07:49

I'm waiting for Mayor Humzinger and the cat-tastrophe crew to get a spin off series. They're the best. Grin

winewolfhowls · 11/04/2017 07:53

This is why we are a hey duggee household.

All hail king duggee!

NerrSnerr · 11/04/2017 07:57

It's better than bleeding Puffin Rock. That would be improved by merpups and aliens. They don't do anything interesting at all.

AmethystRaven · 11/04/2017 07:58

Who the hell is voting for Mayor Goodway and her weird chicken obsession? And it makes sense to have a pup for recycling but no doctor pup, of course.

PseudoBadger · 11/04/2017 07:59

Doesn't Marshall cover the medical side?

I love the surreal nature of paw patrol. Even Rubble's dream episode.

Mine are now into PJ masks. Which as far as I can tell is the same storyline repeated for every episode. Unless they really are watching the same episode over and over.

Evilstepmum01 · 11/04/2017 08:04

The merpup episode was decidedly trippy.
I find paw patrol irritating not just because the actors are crap, the story lines are ridiculous and I loathe mayor whatshernames voice!
As for that chicken......
Ds is watching it now and gives no fucks tho Confused

elQuintoConyo · 11/04/2017 08:07

"I use my paws to uphold the laws" oh go fuck yourself Chase Angry

5yo DS is still a huge Spongebob fan, so PP is tolerated on pencil case etc, but even he finds it too incredulous to watch.

LardLizard · 11/04/2017 08:07

It's amazing how it's become sooo popular so fast

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 11/04/2017 08:09

I keep hearing Mr Grouper (from Bubbleguppies) on Paw Patrol, and looking up to see a fish. It keeps distracting me from my mental block out.

PJ Masks is a new favourite here too. We're stuck with a small selection of episodes through you tube.

Mothervulva · 11/04/2017 08:11

It's boring I think. Same plot over and over. And they're so sanctimonious.

SerialReJoiner · 11/04/2017 08:12

My dd is obsessed. She's three, and I heard her singing the theme song in her sleep. It was cute.

YourOtherLeft · 11/04/2017 08:15

YY about Postman Pat SDS. How do they justify paying for a helicopter? No wonder 1st Class stamps have gone up so much!

TheStoatIsStoatallyDifferent · 11/04/2017 08:56

I also agree about PP. "He's never late" the recipient says at the start of the episode. I beg to differ!

ViolentDelights · 11/04/2017 08:59

Chickoletta!!!!

We have a theory that Mayor Goodwin chicken-napped Chickoletta and the poor handbag chicken is now forever trying to escape back to the farm.

CallousAndStrange · 11/04/2017 09:01

I'm just waiting for Chase to pull himself together and ask Skye out.

FreeButtonBee · 11/04/2017 09:02

I LOVE the merpup episode. Not so keen on the air pups though. That's pure marketing.

I made the mistake of taking my DTs into a toy shop to buy a gift for someone and they saw the full set of merchandise. Won't be making that mistake again. They are already writing their Christmas lists...

GeillisTheWitch · 11/04/2017 09:25

Mine are now into PJ masks. Which as far as I can tell is the same storyline repeated for every episode

This, see also Shimmer and Shine, which is surprisingly dull for a show set in a magical land.

Excitement2017 · 11/04/2017 09:27

Ds2 calls paw patrol 'whore patrol' ....... which is interesting as he talks about it a lot, especially when we are out and we get a lot of funny looks !
