To ask your ultimate verruca treatment?!

Exactly that!! Eldest DC has a very painful verruca on large toe underneath - is affecting walking and everyday activities!!

So we're trying salactol now and I've ordered duct tape.

The salyclic acid pads which you stick on are good but you need to use a stronger plaster/cover as their plasters are rubbish. The compeed blister plasters on top work quite well

Duct tape worked for ds when nothing else did. Really satisfying when it came out attached to the tape!!

  1. Scratch / pick off the top layer of the verucca. (This is important)
  2. Soak a small piece of cotton wool in Apple cider vinegar (I use Braggs) and place on top of the verucca.
  3. Cover the cotton wool with duct tape and plaster tape to keep it in place.

Keep the cotton wool, duct tape and plaster on at all times. Then repeat the process once a day. It should be gone within 2 weeks.

Superglue. I had a pair of veruccas for about a decade and nothing shifted them - I tried all the verucca treatments at the chemist then the recommended ones like corn plasters, duct tape, apple cider vinegar, banana skin and nail varnish. Then I read about smothering it in superglue, so I did. Left it on for about a week then gave it a good yank. Bye bye, verucca (hello, crater in foot where it used to be).

Banana skin, squidgy side on verruca, bandaged up, overnight.

Did this in 1999 after several more conventional treatments and not only did it work (took a week) but I've never had one since.

The inside bit of a banana skin cut to size and stuck over the verucca and plaster over the top.

Change for 3 -4days and then freeze with boots verucca freeze and it will turn black and die.

Paint the area in black nail polish and cover with banana skins and duct tape for as long as you can. If it is an option remove everything and walk on sand in the sea as much as possible. This was after buying every product on the market none of which worked for us.

I never thought of super glue and to be honest I burst out laughing at the thought of anyone taking this drastic step. Forgive me if I have offended you. If I had heard it suggested at the time I would have done it.

There were times when cutting off the entire foot seemed like a very good idea.

Go to the doctor and get it iced off. It takes a couple of goes but I tried everything else and nothing would shift it. Really. Jut go.

Who has the dedication to tape banana peel to their foot everyday for 6 weeks?!?

Scrape top bit of hard skin off. Apply Clear nail varnish apply daily- falls off leaving crater.

DS has seriously sweaty feet and couldn't get duct tape to stay on!!! Dr friend said that we need to have a good go at removing for 3 months before any chance of a referral 🙄 Will have to give banana therapy a go... it is bluddy enormous and needs to be dealt with!

Nail varnish, I had one iced off - no joke - 7 times. Clear nail varnish over it for a few weeks did the trick.
Also got rid of my son's wart this way.

My dd had 2 verruccas for ages , one on each foot, we tried everything from salactol to duct tape to nail polish but the only thing that worked was getting them frozen at the gps. 5 min job and 2 weeks later no more verruccas.

DD has had 2 for 9 months. We have tried many things suggested here. Nothing works. The doctor won't do anything because they don't do verruca treatment any more apparently.

Freezing at GP did nothing for DD's highly persistent verucas, nor did any over the counter remedies. But the apple cider vinegar and duct tape as described by cowsheephens got rid of them eventually - probably took a month in the end. But she'd had them for about 4 years and they were fairly deep rooted.

This thread is interesting. 12 year old dd has 2 massive verrucaes. One on the ball of foot and one one the heel. Nothing but nothing will stay on because of where they are.

We have tried all the remedies posted, (except superglue) even having them frozen at GP's - for 2 years!! They are still there as bad as ever. I think superglue is our next try.... Bloody verrucaes! 😡
