no you are not if your prg engineer rips taht involve going close to said chippy then no problem with making a specific trip

fireflyfairy2 · 03/03/2007 11:52

Our nearest chippy is that far away anyway!! So, no, you are not being unreasonable. 3 miles is not far in the grand scheme of things

StrangeTown · 03/03/2007 11:52

I would travel considerably further for good fish and chips. 'Tis priceless, pregnant or not. Tell hom to get his coat on and get gone.

fryalot · 03/03/2007 11:54

Dp drove me from Hull to Manchester because I fancied a meat pudding with chips from a chippy.

Don't know how far this is, but it is considerably further than 3 miles.

(I wasn't pg, just fancied a pudding, btw)s

VioletBaudelaire · 03/03/2007 11:55

You are pregnant.
You must be indulged now, and for the next 21 years at least.
Tell your DH it is much easier to just give in as soon as you ask for something - the ensuing argument is just a waste of hot air!

bubbles4 · 03/03/2007 15:23

when i was pregnant with ds1,dh used to drive 6 miles to get me pineapple mivi,s

divamumplus · 03/03/2007 15:34

Divamumplus, I've fought with myself all day over this after being on a jolly round a town in the Lakes where the smell of hot chips and vinegar kept hitting my nose in the most persistent fashion all day. I can honestly say I've done really well BUT............... sod it, what are the chances you'd have posted this thread today? Its, like, obviously a sign

I'm off to get some.... And on your comments, no way is 3 miles too far, not for the taste of a beautiful chip!

Squonk, that's a loooooooong way though, I think you've got a star dp there! Well done girl

chocolateshoes · 03/03/2007 19:37

Not unreasonable at all....enjoy (and make sure you get some mushy peas too)

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 03/03/2007 19:38

Only 3 miles? The nearest decent fish & chip shop to me is about 10 miles!

themoon66 · 03/03/2007 19:44

Not unreasonable at all. I have to drive 10 miles for curry, 8 miles for Chinese, 14 miles for Pizza, but the best fish and chips are 95 miles away! I dont get fish and chips very often.

franca70 · 03/03/2007 19:49

no you are not. good food requires commitment

divamumplus · 04/03/2007 21:38

not unreasonable at all!

ScottishThistle · 05/03/2007 00:57

God no, I have to go 500miles for my fave chippy!!!

Skribble · 05/03/2007 01:08

We quite often drive 23 miles down the coast to the chippy with the kids.

But my favourite chippy is about 70 miles away, and yes we have been known to drive there.

There is another one I like 50 milse away too that does a fantastic king rib in breadcrumbs .

alipiggie · 05/03/2007 01:44

Tell you what if I could I'd fly in to get mine but 5,500 miles is probably a bit far . Nope I don't think you're being unreasonable at all.

themanfromiPannema · 05/03/2007 01:57

Totally unreasonable!!

We do have rather a problem with carbon emmissions from car engines.

just a thought.

SNOWBall4girlz · 05/03/2007 01:58

no most definately not I craved fish with both mine and only one chippy would do lucky though only 5 mins away
tell him off shpuld be ooking after you

alipiggie · 05/03/2007 01:59

Pann how do you know she hasn't got an electric car . How's Derbyshire btw?

themanfromiPannema · 05/03/2007 02:01

I KNOW she doesn't.....

Derbyshire is wet and dark. You are in...daylight but overcast??

Skribble · 05/03/2007 02:02

Well if we all convert to fueling up on used vegetable fat we will be fine .

mamama · 05/03/2007 02:54

Mmmmmmm, fish and chips [homesick emoticon]

alipiggie · 05/03/2007 03:35

Well Pann actually it's been 55 degrees here today, sunny and most definitely not overcast. And people could wonder how you know for definite she doesn't have an electric car a
