Or is my cat possessed?

Any one else, since the storm (UK), had their cat go batshit?

She is racing round downstairs, yowling, running up the sofa, attacking the kid's Lego creation and generally being a pain in the arse.

Her sibling is comatose on the bed upstairs.

Is she spayed?

NotAPuffin · 24/02/2017 11:56

Wind has that affect on mine too.

BarbaraofSeville · 24/02/2017 11:56

Is she in the house more than usual? Ours were all a bit crazy yesterday (we have 5 including 3 juveniles).

I just put it down to them being bored and restless because they don't seem to like going out in the wind and rain so stay inside more.

They have catflaps at the front and back of the house and will often look out of both to see if the weather is the same both sides (back garden is usually a bit more sheltered from the wind so this is not as batshit as it first appears).

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/02/2017 12:27

Poor sweetie. Cats are very sensitive to changes in air pressure. Have you tried feliway?

WhispersOnTheWind · 24/02/2017 12:33

Another asking if she's spayed? They behave like that when they're on heat. Otherwise, if she's been confined to the house because of the weather and usually goes out a lot, she's probably just letting off steam.

WhispersOnTheWind · 24/02/2017 12:37

Barbara My cats do that too. See the rain out the front door, walk to back door, see rain there too, give me a dirty look like "You did this, now make it stop." and when it doesn't stop they walk away in disgust.

GinAndTunic · 24/02/2017 12:37

My cats went mad the evening before the storm. Idiots.

On the other hand, cats get their instructions from the Mother Ship and sometimes the messages get garbled. /shrug

LadyPW · 24/02/2017 12:58

The only way we can really give a decent opinion is to see a photo Grin

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 24/02/2017 13:16

This thing but she's 8 month old now. (snipped)

I just think she's a bit crackers.

She's gorgeous Grin. She's still quite young and has a lot of energy, mine is a few months older and has only recently calmed down and stopped behaving like spawn of Satan.

MermaidsTears · 24/02/2017 13:21

Mines four and spayed etc but when it's windy she's goes outside and runs up and down the garden low to the floor with her ears pinned back, then shoots indoors hundred miles per hour and charges round the house like a mad thing!

CigarsofthePharoahs · 24/02/2017 13:31

Mine only behaves like that if she's got in the KFC leftovers.
Bad weather just makes her ho hide behind the sofa!

FunnysInLaJardin · 24/02/2017 13:39

our cat who is nearly 10 has been going nuts this week. She gets all skittish in the wind and charges round the house/won't eat her food etc. I just laugh at her.

QueenOfTheCatBastards · 24/02/2017 13:48

Two of mine have been unhinged this week. Putting down to the weather/season changing.

Vinorosso74 · 24/02/2017 13:51

Gorgeous kitten!
Our 14yo went out briefly in the wind then flew in through the cat flap, sprinted through the kitchen, ears back, growled then jumped on the sofa in lounge, purring away as if nothing had happened.

sobeyondthehills · 24/02/2017 13:51

Our cat flap was going nuts. At one point I had the cat meowing at it and the dog barking at it.

My cat is more of a dog, goes on walks, chases the ball that sort of thing.

His sibling was curled up with my son, everytime I went in I got this look saying don't worry I am protecting him. at least I prefer that to I am going to eat him when you are not looking

Applebite · 24/02/2017 14:50

OP, you shamelessly started this thread just so you could show off your cat.

WHO IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

LadyPW · 24/02/2017 15:06

Totally & utterly gorgeous!!!!! Wow!

ghostyslovesheets · 24/02/2017 15:21

lol the wind does make 2 of mine a bit mental - the other 3 don't seem bothered

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 24/02/2017 16:04

I'm so glad you have posted this as my cat has been behaving very oddly too! Exactly how you described. I never imagined it could be because of the weather!

Combined with the fact we have a newborn in the house now I think I have one very anxious cat! 😔

Thank goodness the wind has died down here now. Can't do much about the screaming baby, so lots of furry cuddles are in order!

TheDogsMother · 24/02/2017 16:13

Its the wind, it sends them a bit mad. She is gorgeous and I'm getting all kitten maternal. Our two (sisters) were both put to sleep last year and I'm really missing having them around the house.

Lazyjane76 · 24/02/2017 19:59

Oh my days your cat is exactly like mine! He's bigger now but I saw your picture and did a double take!

Or is my cat possessed?
Happyandhungry · 24/02/2017 20:24

Aww so cute! Its the wind they get all het up and over excited. Strangely my female cat acted like this the last couple of days (she is 5 years old as well not even a kitten) yet our male cat who is also 5 was not even bothered!

justagirl484 · 24/02/2017 21:45

Storm Doris? My guinea pigs have been very agitated with the storm. Animals are sensitive to atmospheric pressure

ineedwine99 · 24/02/2017 21:46

Awww she is gorgeous!!!
