It's half term. I have three dc. Two of them are napping and will be up around 2pm and one of them is at a friend's house.

It's also Valentines Day and dh gave me a massive box of chocolates this morning which I am sure he intends us to open and eat after dinner tonight.

WIBU to make myself a cup of tea and eat most some of them?

To avoid drip feeding, I did not give him anything because I thought Valentines Day was next week. I am already a bad wife.

Eat it, when he has a full day with all of the kids, buy him a slab of chocolate for him to enjoy.

RuggerHug · 14/02/2017 13:26

Keep his favourite ones from the box for later. Done!

RNBrie · 14/02/2017 13:28

I love you people.

Eat them but nip out later for something for him.

DaisyQueen · 14/02/2017 13:29

I agree keep a few he might like and scoff the rest. He gave them to you after all so you could eat the lot Grin

DaisyQueen · 14/02/2017 13:30

Should have added that you are being unreasonable by having them with tea. Coffee and chocolate is much better!

NancyDonahue · 14/02/2017 13:32

If it has two layers, eat the bottom layer Smile

RNBrie · 14/02/2017 13:34

There's only one layer. But there are two of each type.

They are open. I'm hoping one of the children will wake up before I've eaten them all.

And I have been out and bought him a special dinner so he'll have a surprise to come home to (other than no chocolate left in the house Grin)

Do not share with the children. You will ruin their teeth (my excuse lol) if they do wake up you must move into the kitchen and eat them with your head in the cupboard so the can't see.

crazypenguinlady · 14/02/2017 13:38

Keep a small handful of ones he likes. Eat the rest. :)

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 14/02/2017 13:39

Can you seriously eat a massive box of chocs to yourself?

RNBrie · 14/02/2017 13:40

eat them with your head in the cupboard

I am so glad it's not just me that does that!

OP posts:
RNBrie · 14/02/2017 13:41

Turns out the answer is no Narky. I've had about 5 and I feel a bit sick.

HarmlessChap · 14/02/2017 13:41

YANBU as they are his gift to you
YABU to try and get away with "I thought it was next week" because VD doesn't sometimes fall on the 21st...... :P

DaisyQueen · 14/02/2017 13:42

I do it all the time. And answer with a muffled "nuffin" when they ask what I am eating. It's usually their chocolate too. Bad bad mummy!

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 14/02/2017 13:45

I only asked as I am half way through a bar and feel sickly, I can't imagine a box!

NoCapes · 14/02/2017 13:46

He bought them for you! Eat them Grin

RNBrie · 14/02/2017 13:50

I forgot our wedding anniversary this year too. Fortunately my sister "got the date wrong" and sent me a text two days early which saved my bacon. I've put that in inverted commas cause I'm pretty sure she knew I'd forget. She's a legend. She doesn't eat much chocolate.

I've made good progress with these. Around a quarter.

Redpony1 · 14/02/2017 13:57

I could easily polish off a large box of chocs in one sitting without feeling sick! That's why i ask my DP never to buy me chocolates Grin

HerOtherHalf · 14/02/2017 14:01

I sure as hell never bought my wife the finest chocolates for her to waste them on the kids. The were hers and hers alone. Buy the kids a bar of Dairy Milk and enjoy your treat to yourself.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/02/2017 14:03

Keep his favourite ones from the box for later. Done!

Absolutely. Both of them.

RNBrie · 14/02/2017 14:03

Dc2 is awake. My chocolate fest is over and I've eaten less than half. Pretty sure I'll get away with that.

Thank you for all of your support. I couldn't have done it without you.

RB68 · 14/02/2017 14:09

Get the kids to make him paintings and drawings/cards this afternoon or if feeling ambitious cake as well. Entertainment and forgiveness all in one
