From Conway's point of view I think initially she was doing her job - getting her candidate elected.
We might think her previous clients like the NRA are lunatics, (they are completely beyond my comprehension), but apparently some relatively sane people think they have a point. (However, my only reference points are fictional characters like Diane's husband in the goodwife and Ron Swanson on Parks and Rec, so maybe that is rubbish...).
However, how do you defend or control Trump now? His previous success in business and entertainment has been based on fooling some of the people some of the time. Now, she and Spicer have to face the people who aren't fooled - how do you do that?
