Friday night and shit takeaway

Just ordered takeaway as a treat, the crappest takeaway ever. Oil literally drowning the thing, it was a Japanese soup curry. No taste, just water, sesame oil with noodles and two prawns. Couldn't eat it. DH's was alright but I kept asking him if we could get a refund for mine as I had to throw it in the bin. He gets mad and says that I've been going on about the bloody refund for half an hour and he's been trying to work the website and now his food is stone cold, throws food in the bin and pours his beer down the sink and says let's not bother with our Friday night and that he's going to bed. AIBU to be pissed off that he reacted like this? I'm also pissed off he wasted the money spent his meal which was nice and a full bottle of corona!!

Why didn't you phone/email for a refund?

Tbh it would really irritate me if I was trying to eat my dinner and someone kept banging on, asking me to get a refund.

Why couldn't you do that?

You will know what to order from them again, but you won't get as refund, they've provided the food. You will have to put it down to experience - and if you went on about it for half an hour then YABU, let it go, you are disappointed but life is too short for that.

Why did you need to have him do the refund at the exact time he was eating his food? Your food may have been shit, but his wasn't. Did yours have to be refunded there and then by him? Could you not have rung yourself? Asked for some of his food if yours was crap?

I think I would get the hump too if my DH was banging on about a refund he could sort out himself.

I kind of am on his side. It has probably been a long week. I would haveclet him enjoy his dinner, stuck on a bit of toast and contacted them myself.

Whinging and moaning while he was eating.. It must have been bad for him to do that.

It's so frustrating when your takeaway is crap. Why did you not phone and complain yourself though? Or email them if you do t like using the phone?

It would annoy me if I was eating and my dh was moaning for half an hour about getting a refund! Is There a reason why you wasn't sorting the refund?? Or you could of phoned and explained they might of sent you a replacement meal

YABU - why go on and on at your dh? sort out the refund yourself! Let him eat his tea in peace.

Tbh I'm on your husbands side . You constantly banging on would have put a dampener on the meal .

You kept asking him if you could get a refund for yours? Why? Are you not about to call/email and sort a refund or replacement? DP would fucking annoy me if I was eating my meal and he sat there moaning for HALF AN HOUR I'd probably piss off to bed too

Why weren't you calling or dealing with the website while he ate his meal? If it had been me and dh we'd have shared the one meal. If you were going on and on basically nagging then I'd have got cross with you too, it wasn't your dh fault your takeaway was rubbish unless he'd persuaded you to have that particular item.

Why didn't you arrange the refund? It will annoy me someone moaning for 30 minutes! When I'm trying to eat and they could easily call for themselves

There is no way I would be trying to eat my takeaway if my DH had a terrible inedible meal. Either we would share or I'd put mine in the fridge for tomorrow and we would make something different together.

So my initial thought would be why wasn't your first response to share the edible food then worry about the crap food later? And why on earth did he behave like a five year old by throwing out perfectly good food? Sounds as though you're both a little immature tbh.

You could've looked into the refund yourself or at least let him eat before he started doing it.

I agree with the others.

Most takeaway food is crap anyway.

How much was the soup? Is it worth the time and effort ad all this angst to get a refund.

I'd have written it off and chalked the place off my list.

YABU to let a bowl of soup spoil your night.

Yabu. You went on so much about yours that he gave up on his (which you admit was nice).
Phone yourself and complain, and make yourself something different to eat.
Are you totally reliant on DH to do this for you?
