It doesn't look good if you quote Russia to dismiss the report about Russia blackmailing you.
Also, how would they know that the report is fake rather than that the contents are false? Do they monitor all security agencies' communications? It looks even worse.

It is distracting a bit from the purpose of the press conference isn't it? Shouldn't we be more concerned about his conflicts of interests than whether or not prostitutes were peeing over beds?

It's not the prostitutes or the pee (it's just an excuse to make fun of him), it's whether he's under Putin's thumb or not.
That's at least as concerning as his business conflicts of interest.

I hope he gets some probing questions.
