No AIBU, but what's everyone's resolution?

I'm determined 2017 will be a better year than 2016!

Mine is to say "no". Simple in theory but in practice, lets see!

CamdenTownie · 31/12/2016 23:25

Mine is to give more, randomly and also monthly ect, we have far more than we genuinely need, I just feel that it's easy to get caught up in material things.

JaceLancs · 31/12/2016 23:26

Keep on top of my finances ( I know now that it's unlikely!)

Ditsyprint40 · 31/12/2016 23:26

Be less stressed at work!

TheSnowFairy · 31/12/2016 23:27

Weight loss for BIL's wedding in August.

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 31/12/2016 23:34

Mine is to enjoy life and try to be less concerned with others' perceptions of me. Fuck 'em.

SoDownSoGone · 31/12/2016 23:36

A) cut down my use of social media (use the time to read books) B) finally get a grip of my weight

ShinyMoonFace · 31/12/2016 23:36

Have more fun. There's not nearly enough fun in my life right now.

So, I am going to focus on family holidays and saving uo for them. Have a trip to France planned and another one to Centreparcs.

alleypalley · 31/12/2016 23:40

To sort out wills & pensions.

M0nkington · 31/12/2016 23:42

No more booze. Ever!

TathitiPete · 01/01/2017 02:14

Engage with the kids more. Put the phone down - and don't replace the phone with tv or a book - and get on the floor with 9mo DS (he gets a kick out of seeing mamma on all fours) and attempt to exercise more patience with 4yo DD (a very lovely and challenging little girl)

Do something for myself regularly - no excuses.

Be more patient. I'm hoping #2 will help with this.

Seren85 · 01/01/2017 02:16

Train for and run a 10k. Not focused on weight loss but eat better generally. Finally finished saving the house deposit.

FannyCradock · 01/01/2017 02:16

Drink less wine GrinWine

notgivingin789 · 01/01/2017 02:19

. To enjoy life
. Maintain a distance and cut off toxic people from my life
.Accept my challenges, embrace it and move forward
.To not give two hoots what others think of me.
.Get into sport
.Enjoy every single day with DS.

Come on 2017 !!

twinklefoot · 01/01/2017 02:21

I'm following your resolutions notgivin!

ghostspirit · 01/01/2017 02:23

Loose 3 stone Cake

MummyIsAFreeElf · 01/01/2017 04:30

Read more books for myself as the only books I've read from July have been for my children.
Take more time for myself including one child and partner free night a month!
To eat more and stop letting my eating disorder get the better of me again!

Izzabellasasperella · 01/01/2017 04:34

Stop social smoking I've managed to give up in my daily life but out and with a few drinks I can't help myself!
Stop eating rubbish to compensate for not smoking!

CloserToFine · 01/01/2017 04:40

I have a long list but my most important one is to start taking care of my body. I'm 40 and I feel like I'm 80. I need to lose 2 stone, get in shape generally, and do targeted exercises to strengthen my core and hopefully support my cranky lower back.

I also want to make more effort to keep up relationships with far away friends and family. We are living across the ocean from them right now but with technology there is no excuse. It's not like I have all of these brilliant new friends here, I'm just lazy.

Geekmama · 01/01/2017 05:24

To help more, there is so much bad stuff happening in the world. I really do believeThat you can change the world, with the smallest of acts. So I'm planning on joining the Samaritans and some other sorts of volunteering I'm also wanting to be more eco-friendly!

Batsh1tcrazy · 01/01/2017 05:28

To give those who matter more of my time and headspace and to forgot those who don't.

SageYourResoluteOracle · 01/01/2017 05:37

To have greater integrity
To lose the final 10lbs that I need to lose
To get closer to being able to get back on the property ladder and this includes being far more frugal
To go sub-60 running 10k. I managed a couple of sub-30 5ks in 2016 so this is the next step!
To learn about mindfulness and use this to help with anxiety
To do 'dry January' and Stoptober
To continue to work toward acceptance of two situations in my life that are far from perfect but will never likely be resolved

Wishing everyone on here a joyful, prosperous and successful 2017!

ovaryhills · 01/01/2017 06:06

To use Wishing Wells for good instead of evil

ryderandthepups · 01/01/2017 06:48

Less wine, more books.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 01/01/2017 07:06

To be a more fun parent. Generally I do a good job and there's a lot of love, but I forget the spontaneous fun stuff I think.
