To wrap my husband's presents in newspaper?

WheelsOnTheBusGoRound · 22/12/2016 23:52

So tonight after 3 months of thinking, ordering and collecting Christmas presents for our kids without any help from my husband he decided that the wrapping paper I used was too boring. So he decided to unwrap the presents and wrap them in mismatching paper that will probably get torn before Christmas day.

Sitting drinking a glass of wine and watching him unwrap and re-wrap the presents I'm thinking up revenge strategies. Wrapping his presents in newspaper and replacing his presents with a horrible alternatives are the only thing that come to mind

Do it. I just went to wrap my gifts for DP to find that the aforementioned has used all the paper we have and didn't think to mention it to me.

I was in the shop today as well. THE SHOP!!

He clearly has too much time on his hands!

WheelsOnTheBusGoRound · 22/12/2016 23:55

Oh no, and a few days before Christmas too, hope you find some in the sales!!

You are officially married to a faffer.

He never gets anything worthwhile done. He simply likes to faff!

Hell, dare you imagine him when he's 60? You'll need all the sherry and cherry brandy Christmas can offer, by then.

Sparlklesilverglitter · 22/12/2016 23:56

Fuck your DH is boring he can't think of anything else to do that re wrap prsents just for dc to tear it all off anyway.
I can honestly say I don't ever remember what paper my presents have ever been wrapped in

ChocoChou · 22/12/2016 23:56

I saw something today (a meme I think) where the presents were all wrapped in (empty) doritos share size bags. That's a fab idea !

MavisTheTwinklyToreador · 23/12/2016 00:00

He's trying to make it look like he's had some input when you've actually done all the work.

Did he have the opportunity to join in Christmas prep earlier?

honeylulu · 23/12/2016 00:01

he decided that the wrapping paper I used was too boring
First world problems, hey?

WheelsOnTheBusGoRound · 23/12/2016 00:01

He's still going and it's almost midnight, definitely a faffer!
Empty for its bags sound fab, a couple of his presents would fit perfectly!

You might be right Mavis. I did try to get him involved but he said that I knew best so he would leave it to me.

Definitely a first world problem. Light hearted thread though

He sounds like a faffeur extraordinaire and clearly has nothing better to do.

I am another who pays no attention at all to what paper my presents are wrapped in. All the kids will want to do is yank it off and shred it in no time anyway.

MavisTheTwinklyToreador · 23/12/2016 00:23

Sorry, Wheels, I got all serious on your ass. 😀 I do that.

How about used chippy paper?

Strawberrybonbons16 · 23/12/2016 02:21

My DP has been known to wrap my presents in tin foil, it saves on the sellotape he claims Xmas Hmm

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 23/12/2016 02:48

I wrapped all mine in brown paper and string.

I'd been going through a phase of watching The Walton's which I believe may have affected my decision.

They did look nice and vintage though. This year my paper has gnomes, cats and Phoenix's on. I'm not even sure it's even Christmas paper.

665TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 23/12/2016 05:52

Could you wrap random household objects Like the TV..and the toilet, when he's in bed, because they are boring?
Or...well...him?

123MothergotafleA · 23/12/2016 05:58

Hasn't he got anything useful to do, like bringing home the bacon?!!!
He sounds like a faffer alright, and that's being charitable.

TheOtherGalen · 23/12/2016 06:06

Around here we just hand each other the unopened Amazon.com boxes.

lifesuckssometimes · 23/12/2016 06:32

Glitter paper!!

Trumpton · 23/12/2016 06:40

Do this to him !

JeffStellingsLeftEyebrow · 23/12/2016 06:42

Just wrap them in cling film Xmas Grin

AnaMaleka · 23/12/2016 06:46

Don't wrap them at all! Or cling film with MASSES of sellotape so he can't open them. Or even parcel tape!!

SnugglySnerd · 23/12/2016 06:51

Wrap them in layers of wrapping paper with a thick sprinkling of glitter between each layer that will fall all over him and stick. He'll still be finding glitter on himself in the new year!

SoupDragon · 23/12/2016 06:55

My dad used to wrap my mother's gifts in newspaper. It's a family joke :)

MuggleWuggle · 23/12/2016 07:00

Wrap them in plastic carrier bags, the thinnest, cheapest variety.

MissBeehiving · 23/12/2016 07:04

That would drive me up the wall. I'd go for bin bags for wrapping. In fact I wouldn't wrap them individually either. Nice bow. Job done.😉
