Yep. Couldn't give a stuff.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 24/11/2016 23:26

Me neither.

Don't have it in me to assault someone for a cheap telly.

It all the crap stuff they haven't been able to get rid of. Like the next sale

SuperPug · 24/11/2016 23:29

Hate the constant advertising on tv, the horrible photos that will be released tomorrow, people buying things they don't need or can't afford, not really getting a bargain anyway- aargh.

musicposy · 24/11/2016 23:33

I'm after a washing machine and Argos had a good one. Advertised everywhere on website but when I tried to buy, out of stock for delivery to my area. Every Black Friday washing machine deal I tried, same thing.

So then I tried a DD's postcode as she's up in London so I thought, totally different area (how I was going to get a washing machine 70 miles was not something I'd solved!). Guess what, all out of stock for delivery there too.

So I phoned customer services. They said they're on the website because they are in stock, just not for delivery to my area (or London, it seems). Phone back Saturday, they said, then they should be back in the warehouse. I said but there's a deal on today. To which she apologetically said sorry, it will probably be full price then.

It feels like one giant con.

BadToTheBone · 24/11/2016 23:36

There's a couple of things I want to buy, I'll check tomorrow, if they're cheap I'll be chuffed to bits, if they're not I'll buy them some other time. Other than that, not arsed.

5foot5 · 24/11/2016 23:44

It's usually a bit of a let down.

For the last two years DH and I have accidentally arranged our Christmas shopping day on Black Friday. Despite the news stories we find disappointingly few people wrestling each other to the ground in Kendal Milne's. We usually start off in John Lewis on the A34 at Cheadle Royal and it is also terribly well behaved.. Maybe we should live dangerously and risk the M&S at Handforth Dean. What do you think?

WorraLiberty · 24/11/2016 23:44

I think Martin Lewis had the best advice.

Make your Christmas shopping list.

Price up the items.

See if they actually are significantly cheaper when you add postage (if bought online).

Don't deviate from the list and get tempted to buy shit just because it's cheap.

So, like any other friggin sale really.

GirlOverboard · 24/11/2016 23:49

I enjoy bargain hunting but I've never bought anything on Black Friday. It seems to be focused on techy stuff, which doesn't interest me. And I read in the paper that 50% of these deals are actually cheaper in the months before or after Black Friday. I'll be keeping an eye out tomorrow, but I don't expect to buy anything.

aquashiv · 24/11/2016 23:55

Nah its all the old shite stock

Meadows76 · 24/11/2016 23:56

I tried to go into Argos about 20 mins ago and the site is shut with a Black Friday advert. Ffs I only wanted to look for glo pens Angry

PickAChew · 25/11/2016 00:00

I'm about to do the martin Lewis thing - have my list!

And yes, lots of sites seem to have shut - Currys, Apple and Argos, for starters. Argos will probably fall over 20 seconds past midnight, so Idon't know why they bothered.

JL are open all along

winterisnigh · 25/11/2016 00:00

open again meadows I am on the site now

BabyGanoush · 25/11/2016 00:02

Argos just goes down

Same last year

Must be bad for business, surely?

PickAChew · 25/11/2016 00:04

OK, 4 minutes past and curiosity is satisfied. It's all exceptionally shit :o

mumofone1234 · 25/11/2016 00:19

Another shit thing shipped in from America! Hmm

wlv12 · 25/11/2016 00:27

It's a load of shit! Looking online due to curiosity, bought a few half price Lego items and decided that there isn't actually any sales that haven't been on all week?

MardyBra · 25/11/2016 00:50

Are punctuation marks on multibuy?

TipBoov · 25/11/2016 00:56

Surprise surprise, the toys I wanted from Argos have been reduced, but are all now suddenly out of stock everywhere Hmm

btfly2 · 25/11/2016 01:06

MardyBra:
Punctuation marks mutibuy..? Yes, on sale and even cheaper on Black Fridays ;)

Well I decided months ago to purchase a TV for my brother for Christmas, he's been going on about a decent sized one for ages and can't afford it with moving house etc. Have done my research, waited to see if it went down in price.

Just got it for 50% off from Argos, I'm picking it up tomorrow

BoopTheSnoot · 25/11/2016 01:17

It doesn't interest me. I'm not going to spend my day grappling over slightly-reduced-in-price electricals with strangers. Or waiting in a queue to get onto a website to impulse buy stuff that I really don't need, or want, because it's a bit cheaper than it was yesterday. The deals often aren't that great anyway.
I avoid all shopping on Black Friday. Bah humbug.

previously1474907171 · 25/11/2016 01:26

musicposy don't bother with Argos, take a look at AO and check for special offers and codes on Google, I found a section on the AO website once with further reductions on some of the prices. They deliver when they say they will and will install and remove old appliance for a small charge.

Toxicity · 25/11/2016 01:35

I'm quite happy....I just got some Christmas presents online that had great discounts! It was beauty sets that I had my eye on for friends and my sister and a brilliant knitting kit that was half price.
