I asked my mum if she thought Granny Murray would have to go through all the checks associated with childminding and she said 'yes - she's working with children'. So if it all goes wrong, she can squat in the set and start her own business.

Why is she a granny if she is only about 28? You'd think after having a baby at 14 she would have taught her old children something about birth control. And all that hyper-enthusiasm - she is like an advert for Prozac.

My DS is a good judge of character -his first words when he hears the music at the start of Me Too is " Me no like Honey Pie lady!" and he looks slightly scared!

I get the feeling that cheese-toastie making is a bit of a vocation for him so presumably the money isn't really an issue

I reckon if Granny Murray had been Little Red Riding Hood's Grandma the wolf wouldn't have stood a chance - he'd have been too exhausted by all the making-sticking-gluing-baking-faffing-flopping

DS1 is simultaneously (sp?) scared and enthralled by Granny Murray. He doesn't understand the come away in bit, thinks she is telling ppl to go away! if she lives in the basement how canshe have a garden?

I was in the shop with Ds1 and mindee getting medicine, and mindee saw a Me Too magazine. She looked at me and said
"I can't believe they have even got a magazine for that pool of pish". Now she is 4, and i can promise you she has not heard it called that from me!.Still, she has described it correctly, but i wouldn't tell her that

Granny Murray is deeply disturbing. I also find it profoundly irritating that all the people just seem to swan casually into work - always in daylight - and come back at reasonable hours. The market stall trader never has to go the warehouse at 4am first of all, the doctor's never called out in the middle of the night, the teacher never turns up at 7am to get the classrom set up or has to stay late for a meeting...

Agree about the jobs, unquietdad. Also, why isn't there a big sign above the train-buffet-man's counter saying "VIOLENCE TO OUR STAFF WILL RESULT IN PROSECUTION"?
